It is what they set out for it to be...

A one view and done summer popcorn flick.....

I cant get why folks would assume anything that is on sequel number 5 would be anything else?

Are we expecting Fast and Furious 7 to be the next Godfather?

Its was a time sink for 2 hours that hopefully could entertain for that time....no more ....no less.

The movie was fine, but it was pretty funny when Congress is like "dinosaurs, yup freakin dinosaurs, only exist on one island on the whole planet, but no - we must let nature take its course.":lecture:lol

And was I the only one expecting that little girl to suddenly turn at the end and have a reptile eye? Where on earth they're going with that, who knows?:slap

The Trump jabs were a little tepid and silly though.

They just keep getting more and more cartoony with these films. Dinosaurs in a mansion, Superhero Raptor, Dr Wu evil scientist and the most generic and un-Jurassic Park-like score.

Passable entertainment but the typical escalation of sequels more often than not ends up going too far from the original.

I don't like starting threads so I'm posting here due to his Jurassic Park franchise connection - Irrfan Khan has died. He played Masrani - the owner of Jurassic World. I quite liked him in that role, thought it was a bummer the character was killed off.

Doesn't seem to have been a Covid-related death.

I hadn't yet seen him in enough US films to learn his name but immediately recognized his face when I happened upon an article talking about him in the past tense. Distinctive voice, enjoyed his character in Jurassic World. Shame we won't see him in anything more. RIP.

Not seen much chatter about Jurassic World: Dominion. Perhaps that tells me everything I need to know in terms of anticipation. So, what do we think of the prologue?

I thought it was interesting how they showed the dinosaurs (and the T-Rex in particular) to have their more (scientifically accepted as) accurate feathery appearance. But, it still sucks that they pulled a JPIII and had the T-Rex lose.

Given the Giga and T-Rex would never have met in the real World this one is easier to accept than JPIII. :lol

I wish the whole film was like that prologue.

Imagine a movie where, rather than building a park and growing dinosaurs, InGen develops technology to take you back in time to the the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous Periods to see genuine dinosaurs.

Might be cool.

Valid. Anything is easier to accept than JPIII.

Operative word is "probably" though. So in my head canon they do, lol.

Though as the Alien Queen showed us they might actually be scarier if they don't.

The reality is, dinosaurs will always be creatures of fiction to us, we can compile their bones and make educated guesses based on other data, but we just won't ever know anything for absolute certainty, so we are free to think of them in whatever manner makes them exciting for us.
