Strange, many here seem to actually like this movie. I thought for sure this one would be a full dud. I may see it tomorrow.

As your attorney, I advise you against it.

Not sure about the rest of the film, but you will definitely like the villain. Even better than I-rex.

That's the driving force in me wanting to see it now.

This still seems like the "World" version of JP2 -- island madness, then dinos in the city. I don't expect to be impressed, just entertained for 2 hours. I hope.

From trailers it may feel like Lost World Redux, but it's not, for whatever flaws it may have, Lost World had a feeling of grand adventure and scope, even once on the mainland. This movie is very narrow, they visit the island for a short time and limited areas, and the majority of the film is set on a boat or a mansion, feeling less grand than previous Jurassic films.

It's not to say it's bad, but you'll in no way feel like this film was repetitive of any predecessor.

This is true.. I give it credit for trying a different location... But said location did nothing for me. I am also so tired of Rich / military people are the true bad guys who want the Dino's for their own nefarious needs.. Its the one way JPIII actually stands apart for the others.

Just back from seeing it. These movies are getting dumber every film. Too many plot holes, rehashed villains, impossible situations, no mystery who’s going to live and who’s going to die. Filmmakers must assume the average movie goer is an absolute idiot. It only had a few decent moments, but overall a complete waste of celluloid.

Didn't even like Indoraptor? I thought for sure he'd be a winner. :thud:

Indoraptor was fine. Good monster in a silly movie. But he lost me at the "tranq fake-out" thing. Very smart creature gets very dumb on cue. And how much does he weigh? Sometimes a thunderous monster whose weight plays heavily into his demise, other times he can creepy quietly over rooftops. Whatever the moment needs. Whatever a child will believe.

First time viewing I really enjoyed JPIII... But I find all the characters to be really awful... I hate the broken marriage sub plot...

The only thing scarier to kids than dinosaurs is divorce. Given the fixation these movies have with the topic (even bringing it up at the beginning of JW1 only to never mention it again), I can only assume that's a little psychological power-play the filmmakers are trying to pull. And it all started with III...

It started in JP because Lex and Tim's parents were getting divorced - I believe Hammond was distracting them for the weekend at his daughter's request (I think there is a throw away line of expository dialogue from Hammond in the movie which explains this set up and there was another piece of cut dialogue which contained some more detail). As a result, Lex and Tim have abandonment issues from the divorce which is then compounded during the breakout Rex scene with the "he left us!" and Grant's response "But, that's not what I'm gonna do". Grant and Ellie become their surrogate parents and show them that not all adults are going to let them down.

JW being a soft reboot of JP copied it directly from the original. JPIII being a lazy sequel just threw it in to the movie because the first one did it to see if it would gain any transaction ... It didn't for me lol.

Well let’s face it..unless it’s a MCU ( non Thor ) or SW flick, I think pretty much, companies are predicting they will make more with the blu Ray and now digital sales, those two genres are the only thing that are bringing sales to the box office in the last few years :lecture

I see the JP franchise faltering soon..there’s only so much a child will be invested in Dinosaurs nowadays

Yet this movie is already at the $935 million mark worldwide and will easily pass $1 billion. It's definitely trailing behind the pace of the first Jurassic World, but it's going to do more than "alright" for itself when the final numbers are in.
