Re: Jurassic World

Looks alright. Not good, not bad, IMO.

I'm betting (hoping) it'll look a lot better on film.

Re: Jurassic World

Pretty sure both of those are fan art, if not old concept art. That bottom pic's been around for a while.

This trailer was a bigger letdown than the new SW teaser. I think I was expecting JW to be some sort of major reinvention of the franchise along the lines of the new POTA movies. But this... there was just nothing AT ALL that seemed new to me.

I mean a bigger-meaner-than-T-Rex dinosaur was already done with the Spinosaurus in JP3, and the "smarter than you" thing was done with the raptors. Oh wait, but this newest one is different because it has opposable thumbs?:slap

And the park is now open and full of guests? Well, logic errors aside (the guests clearly didn't see the last 3 movies) JP2 had the same dino-chasing-crowd visuals.

Just nothing fresh at all. Very bummed. Will now refer to this simply as "JP4" because that's all it is.

And... does anyone believe for a second that a theme park would sacrifice/kill a great white shark to please a crowd at every show? That just seemed like a director saying "They did a goat before, it would be so cool if..."

I was referring to the D-rex design which turned out to be a Sideshow statue...:lol

I agree that the trailer was underwhelming and generic. I loved the scene with the raptors though. The thought of those creatures that we've watched hunt and kill the good guys in the previous three films finally team up with the good guys to possibly take down an even bigger, badder creature? Awesome.

Re: Jurassic World

Yup I agree, I mean, it looks fun and all, but sure doesn't look like anything new.

A POTA-like re-imagining sure sounds more interesting not that I've seen the trailer.

Yeah, sorry - I only read a page or so and posted, then read backwards.:slap

The D-Rex doesn't look that unique in the limited pics I've seen - they appear to be withholding it for a big reveal, yet it doesn't look very different or exotic. It looks like the Carnotauruses from "Dinosaur" crossed with the Spino bigger arms. I guess human-like hands maybe sets it apart.

I'll be there on opening day and all but... maybe it was the hype and stuff I was reading, all the secrecy, I just thought this was some big and cool reboot like POTA (they even had the writers of that on this for a short time) but oh well.

And Raptors ARE JP and always high on the cool scale - I seem to recall a rejected JP4 concept was them as sort of like intelligent creatures with weapons? Pretty funny but hey, more raptors! The Raptors taking on T-Rex in JP is still such an awesome scene (and the FX hold up pretty well all these years later.)

I'm surprised no one recognized the Allosaurus, the fake pic is quite old

:exactly: :goodpost:

I feel the exact same way about this trailer

Re: Jurassic World

Of course the teaser is underwhelming. It only showed what people would expect Dino's and chaos. Next trailer always gives us a better look into things.

Re: Jurassic World

I feel sorry for people who didn't like the trailer. I have my Jurassic Park from 1993 which is perfect. I'm looking forwards to seeing another dinosaur next year that will hopefully be a worthy addition to the JP franchise. :)
