It was announced in January that Universal Pictures is moving forward with Jurassic Park IV and, today, Deadline has just revealed that a director has been named. Safety Not Guaranteed's Colin Trevorrow will helm the franchise sequel.

Details on the project are currently few, but Jurassic Park IV is scripted by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. It is also being planned for a 3D release.

The original 1993 Jurassic Park IV, meanwhile, is schedule for release on June 13, 2014.
