You know, when I was a kid, the year Die Hard made such a splash, me and friend kept reading that Bruce Willis was going to be in everything, just like Pratt now. So for fun we kept a tally of all the movies Willis was "tapped" for. I think we had 14 at one point in 6 months time. He ended up doing about three of those movies over a 6 year period. Die Hard, Three Rivers and something else.

He can go to all the gay pride parades he wants to, I don't think he'll be cast in the Marvel Universe or in the next Star Wars or in the next Jurassic World.

But maybe he'll be like Keanu and just keep popping up and moving along. I said it does happen. But few and far between.

Pratt is as big as Sylvester Stallone in 1985, when he had 3 HUGE hits, Rambo 2, Rocky 4 and Cobra within a 12 month period...but then he did Over the Top

Probably more, he's in two maybe three big franchises, JW, GOTG, and Lego films. Those will keep him relevant for a while, just like Daniel Craig is relevant because of Bond.

He was really good in Moneyball as a humble out of work ball player. He can do roles that don't require him to be a grinning goofball. Even the little tearing up he did when reaching for his mom's hand in GOTG indicates to me that he can be downright serious if the role calls for it.

Relevancy is relative.

Did JPIII keep Sam Neil relevant? Did Gremlins 2 keep Zach Gallagan relevant? Did 2 Star Wars movies keep Hayden relevent?

He definitely has to lose the "bro" stuff if he wants to be more than Sarah Jessica Parker's next love interest in a mediocre comedy.
