I didn't realize it was from the director of Up. Part of The Avengers' massive second weekend is being credited to it having no competition to speak of. Avengers 1 still might lose the record for highest 2nd weekend, it's going to be close, however JW will be quickest to 400 million (11 days vs 14 for Avengers).

The Pixar movie is doing very well BUT will still come 2nd to JW because Pixar's movie is sharing the audience with JW instead of cannibalizing it, in other words it's not taking family business away from JW.

Me thinks only TFA can overtake Titanic/Avatar.

When you blow away everything in December then the spoils of that victory are three or more months of no competition. JW is going to compete with Inside Out and then every other studio tent pole that has yet to be released. Terminator, Ant-Man, Mission Impossible, Minions, even crap like Magic Mike and Fantastic Four.
