Jurassic World (SPOILERS!)

One guy was so excited to see another Jurassic movie that he told me he had avoided all trailers and TV spots. He was so enthusiastic I couldn't help but snap a pic of him as well.

I didn't see him again but I'm sure he loved it.

Yea, darn doctors needing permission to kill your comatose relatives are always screwing up dinosaur movies...

Is this common in America? If anyone clapped in a UK cinema, there would be the most awkward reaction to it.

Not common but it happens pretty randomly. Last showing I remember people clapping at was Predators. So yea...

Yeah it's pretty weird but it does happen over here. Kind of an "acknowledge that the experience was awesome" thing since the people who made the movie clearly can't hear us.

I heard the last movie that got applause in the UK was Independence Day.

I remember RIDDICK saying that Rocky IV got tons of applause at the end when he saw it in the theater.

There was applause all three times I saw JW but I must admit that there was the one guy who kept shouting "oh come on!" and "worst movie ever!" I was so surprised to hear someone have that opinion that I took it upon myself to snap a quick picture of him out in the lobby.

Wow, I can't believe this has out grossed age of ultron and furious 7 has out grossed the first avengers movie. Talk about universal having a killer year.

Hey anybody remember the non-patched chimpanzee scream the last time we see the spino in JP3?

Since the release of JW I have to be honest that I am surprised at the amount of people brushing off TLW and JP3 so quickly both here and on YOUTUBE. I have enjoyed all three of these movies and feel that all three have complimented each other so well (The Park, The Safari and The Wild). By the time we get to JP3, humans had no business on the island. TLW and JP3 had great moments that I find hard to brush off and ignore:

TLW (The Safari)

Compsognathus – I loved the TLW introduced us to smallest of dinosaurs
The introduction of the jeeps/bike chasing Dinosaurs. Tons of Dinosaurs running
Destruction of the Camp
Two T-rex (cliff scene)
T-Rex in the Tent, running down a trail into a waterfall
"Not into the long grass” - Raptors. I loved how the Raptors just had a small part
SD scene was fine. I think it was going to happen (Dino’s in the City) so get it done in the second movie
Movie basically had two endings (like Aliens)
The tease of a Pteranodon

JP3 (The Wild)

Plane flying over Dinosaurs (great Welcome back)
Plane crashing scene
Intro of Spinosaurus (he looked good)
Spinosaurus vs. T-Rex (I like that Spin wins) Basically tells the viewer its not T-Rex movie this time around
Spinosaurus running out of the forest (completely copied by I-Rex in JW)
“Any Body have Change” scenes in headquarters
The scene of Spin standing there with the phone ring before chasing them by the fence

ITS A BIRDCAGE – One of the best intro to any Dinosaur from any movie. How can people ignore this. We were waiting to see Pteranodon since they teased it in TLW. I loved this scene.

The movie was short but it was go go go from the beginning.!!!


TLW and JP3 do not deserve the brushing off I have read here and listened to on YOUTUBE.

None of the three sequels touch the magic of the first one, but I think they're all good with dozens of great moments. None of them are awful in my opinion. There are silly moments (and characters) in Lost World, III, and World, sure, but they're all decent Dino movies.


I want to see Grant and Malcolm return, maybe have to team up with Pratt to fight frickin' military dinosaurs with frickin' lasers on their heads.

On the one hand I guess some of us are putting the first one on a pedestal, while on the other we've got people perceiving some huge jump in quality of Jurassic World over the previous two sequels which I'm not sure is really there.

I think the bump is there from those 2, especially J3.

JP1 is obviously king, but JW was consistently fun.

TLW/J3 also suffered from being released so close to the greatness that was JP1.

I really don't think JP3 is anywhere near the level of the rest of these. Like I said, it abandons the themes that make it a Jurassic Park and goes it's own way. It's just a dinosaur action movie. It gets a break because there aren't many others in that genre to compare.

TLW is still great barring the third act.

What's wrong with the Rex in San Diego? I thought we loved all Rex-based stuff.
