Re: Justice League-Parts 1 & 2 (2017 and 2019)

From a studio perspective, you're absolutely right! Assuming it makes whatever they expect it to, I wouldn't expect them to make a change. If I were in their shoes I wouldn't.

Yeah, it's not gonna happen. And not just because of box office...

While some people may not like his take on these characters, the truth is that WB/DC was all out of sorts about what to do with this movie universe until Zack and Debbie stepped up and helped them put a plan together. That wasn't the suits at WB (because they would have continued floundering and debating with each other indefinitely), it was Cruel & Unusual Films. Without that, we wouldn't be getting Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman or any of the other films announced so far. Zack & Debbie were even instrumental in hiring David Ayer, Patty Jenkins and James Wan. And, of course, Zack personally brought Affleck into the fold. They won't get any credit for this from the online mouthfoamers, of course. It is what it is.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they tried to include Lobo in this movie as their version of Deadpool--a crass, loudmouth funnyman who enjoys killing and can't be easily killed.

Need a big ugly guy to play him. Can Brock Lesner act?

Re: Justice League-Parts 1 & 2 (2017 and 2019)

It's kind of a shame The Rock was already cast as Black Adam in the SHAZAM movie. He'd make an awesome Lobo, too. They could make him ugly if they need to. :lol

I've honestly never been a fan of Snyder as a director, going back to Watchmen (though I thought 300 was fine). But putting that aside, if you compare where the non-Nolan WB was with DC prior to his coming on (Catwoman, Jonah Hex, Green Lantern), and now, they are in a much better place. MOS and BVS have their problems IMO, but not nearly on the level as some of those other movies. Particularly if you can divorce yourself from the source material (something I admittedly have a very hard time doing). And now they've got a strategy, instead of WB stumbling from odd choice to odd choice. And even though I have no insider information at all, I can see that he's been at the forefront of all that.

And even for those who aren't huge fans of Snyder, they're making more interesting decisions to complement his "tentpole" movies than they were doing before, like Ayer with Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman. I just hope they bring in the right kind of talent and approach for the proposed Blue Beetle/Booster Gold movie and Shazam movies. Those movies scream for a Marvel Ant-Man or GOTG-type treatment.

I wouldn't cast him in any role that needed much dialogue. He is obviously an unbelievable physical specimen, but he's so bad on the mic that the WWE employs mouthpiece Paul Heyman to do all of his talking. I can't remember the last time they had to do that for a major player/champion before him.

If they wanted to cast a rassler, I might actually go with Batista. Like Lesnar, he can pull off being a sadistic beast very well, but also can talk pretty well, and can be funny when he needs to be. I'm having a hard time thinking of another wrestler who could do it justice.

Oh, I absolutely agree. Those need to be much more light-hearted.

Re: Justice League-Parts 1 & 2 (2017 and 2019)

Pretty much.

If you say "he" is coming and show a picture of (para)demons coming from the sky.

That's Darkseid.

Well, I guess that confirms my theories about Lex being so nuts. Goddamn Steppenwolf, man...

Re: Justice League-Parts 1 & 2 (2017 and 2019)

Yeah, that's the Deleted Scene from when Lex is arrested after the Doomsday battle. That's where he "rang the bell".

And you're correct. That is Steppenwolf.

I'm debating between Yuga Khan and Steppenwolf. The latter makes more sense, but the former's comic appearance is closer to the figure above.

You know, it could be... because there is an actor cast as Steppenwolf and that was clearly an all-CGI hologram likely without any motion capture.

But I know this for sure: The New Gods are coming.

Re: Justice League-Parts 1 & 2 (2017 and 2019)

From that clip, I assume those are Mother Boxes Steppy has and it looks like Cyborg was made from one?

This is CRAZY good news- they really have alot of big baddies to come...

Re: Justice League-Parts 1 & 2 (2017 and 2019)

True. But then, quality over quantity. ;)

Comic-Wise, they both have both good and bad villains. DC has Luthor, Sinestro, Darkseid, Brainiac, Black Adam, etc, etc, while Marvel has Magneto, Doom, (Starlin) Thanos, Old-Loki, etc, etc. They both have ones that transcend the common villain, and, well, some duds. I'm looking at you Sugar-Man and Calculator!
