People are just nostalgic about Reeve...watch those movies back, garbage.
Returns was a rip off of garbage so didn't stand a chance. MOS first time Superman was brought to life on screen.

Laugh it up fellas .....I speak the truth and ye all know it. I don't read comics our worship Reeves so I'm not blinded by nostalgia ....garbage movies. Real news people.

MOS best superman to ever hit the big screen.:lecture

I agree.

It's the best Superman film so far...also the best DBZ live action film. :lol

78 Sups has two advantages over MOS though, the most iconic, memorable, heroic theme ever made, and the perfect comic Superman costume. Other than that, the lack of action, the boring first hour, silly humor, and the ridiculous ending, makes the Reeve film very dated.

The Chris Reeves movie represents the heart of the character. The big blue alien Boy Scout who is here to help. You take that ideal and put it in today's world of cynisism and over the top violence and you get the Man of Steel. Could you imagine the reaction if WB made something like MOS back then in the 70's?

The character banter alone in 78 destroys pretentious MOS.

The krypton/farm/nyc acts are each perfectly handled.

MOS is loaded with action and that movie is still a bore and a chore to sit thru.

I forgot about the Pa Kent death. 78 has a better death. Tornado death is as silly as Sups turning back time.

Other than that, the costume and theme, it's all dated.

MOS feels like Sci-fi film, which it was always missing from the Reeve film.

I guess the 78 film is accurate to the 60's and 70's comics, so it's a product of its time, while MOS is a 90's and 2000's version of Superman. I'll take MOS. :lol

In the words of your master and commander.....Fake news.

Kids have it bad with regard to Superman these days. STM is charming but is so dated you almost have to be an adult to appreciate it within it's proper context. Cavill Supes is flashy but unlikable. As much as I try to nudge both my kids in the direction of Marvel Batman is their favorite superhero by far. Spider-Man didn't resonate with them until Homecoming. After that it's pretty much nothing but DC for them with them enjoying MCU films but never requesting to watch them at home.

You are sooooooooooo lucky DiFabio is not here to publicly make you eat those horrendously embarrassing words lol

Difabio is deeed. Barry it. Consider diss mercy.

Clark Kent was lame and you know it. Acting like an idiot and lying, "I never lie, Lois"....yeah, except every single minute of the day when you pretend to be an idiot....and then you wonder why Lois doesn't give a **** about Clark Kent?

A normal Clack Kent like in the animated series was better. He was just a normal competent guy, not a caricature...ironically.

I will say this, 78 Sups is the most influential superhero film of all time, still influencing new films like WW, and other super hero origin stories.

It can't get anymore perfect than cinematic Christopher Reeve Kent/Superman.

It hurt watching Routh being forced to emulate him.

Cavill has the charm and charisma of a spider crawling into your mouth while you're sleeping when compared to Reeve.

I feel like MoS is mostly a movie about how many times a Kryptonian can get slammed through 14 walls and still come back and fight.

It happens so much it has to be a theme... or motif at least.
