I want an unknown actor, not a crappy wrestler who can't act, and I'm not talking about Rock. I don't think Tatum is big enough to play Shazam, but neither was the Thor guy before Avengers, so who knows? But look at Evans as Cap, he's not a great actor, and he doesn't really look like Cap, but he's doing a good job in the role. I've never seen Cena show any potential as an actor. Tatum has shown some potential in both comedy and drama.

Cena was funny in train wreck. Pretty great actually.

Still, Tatum for shazam.

Tatum, is MUCH better when it comes to comedy, hell he can improvise, even with as little as he's done. Tatum is le funny duder with his potbros in comedies...as usual, you are totally right Clown and I'm so wrong...so wrong ; _ ;

Whether or not Tatum could actually pull off Shazam would depend on what the director is going for, the script, and his screen tests. Also keep in mind that CT has name recognition and a fan base from his Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street franchises (I've never seen the former and only about 2/3 of the first Jump Street). I'm sure he would like nothing better than to get a crack at another potential blockbuster franchise. Shazam would definitely be a trade up from Gambit, especially if the character shows up in the 2nd Justice League movie. The only reason Gambit has even gotten to this point is because Gail Anne Hurd has been pushing it with Tatum attached. If DC brings in a top caliber director with a solid filmography as opposed to a studio stooge yes man, it's unlikely he/she would cast a big name actor that would sink the flick before the cameras even started rolling. I'm also sure The Rock will have a major say in the choice, so he'll probably want to make sure it's somebody perfect for the role as well. If you would have asked me yesterday to name 5 actors who could play Shazam, Tatum would have been no where even close to that list. It was only after seeing someone suggest him earlier in the thread that I saw it as a potential. Otherwise it would have been names like John Hamm, Arnie Hammer and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau I suppose. Which are basically the same actors currently not associated with a major superhero franchise, that come up when considering casting a Superman or Batman type.

They don't need any more name recognition for that movie, The Rock is enough, and John Cena + the Rock could put more asses on seats than CT + the Rock could. Tap into that Wrestling crowd.

Joe was very likable in the new Pee Wee film, but he doesn't have the look for Shazam.

That's my main problem with all of these choices, they're not bad actors at all, some of them are great and I don't dislike any of them, but they don't look even remotely like Shazam.

All of these are like Nic Cage Superman to Shazam tbh.
