These actors and producers pretending to be shocked are just as bad as Harvey. You think his own bro didn't know what he was up to for all these years? Give me a break. It doesn't begin and end with Harvey Weinstein either. This has been systemic for decades. Weinstein is the tip of the ice berg, now you have people saying they regret not saying anything sooner, only a matter of time before the lid is blown on everyone else in the industry.
For now, Weinstein is the sacrificial lamb for whatever reason. Why this has all finally come out now when this has been a problem with Hollywood since the beginning is anyone's guess, but it's good that it's happening. It's telling that his own flesh and blood would turn on him and throw him to the wolves, especially when there's probably dirt on Bobby boy as well. Probably to save face since there are thousands of rats, just like Harvey Weinstein. Once they smell blood in the water, the actors, filmmakers, producers will attack the source. There will be another one to fill in Weinstein's position in the aftermath, there always is. My hope is that the whole house of cards is going to come crumbling down, and it just doesn't end with Weinstein. I'm sure the entire industry hopes this one instance of casting out one of their own is enough to save face and the whole thing just blows over so everyone will believe hollywood is "clean" again.
I want to see actual arrests, I want to see Weinstein and others like him in prison. Not just actors that willingly whored themselves out for years, gossiping on twitter.
I want to see arrests, too. It's a shame that the worst thing that'll happen to Harvey is that his walk of fame star will be torn up.
This whole situation is just a mess, and everyone should've spoken up sooner if people like Bob really cared. I know this always happens in this sort of situation. That statement is likely nothing more than Bob's attempt to save his own skin, and he would've remained quiet until he died if this never came out, but I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.
But yeah, I always roll my eyes whenever something like this happens, where suddenly 50+ victims come out of the blue after all these years to say something when it's in a big news story, instead of doing it years ago. Bob and everyone else should've spoken up sooner. Hell, Seth McFarlane made a comment about it in that video posted a few pages back and his career wasn't damaged because of it, so I don't see why others didn't.
I didn't mean for it to come across like he was innocent in the whole thing, since he and others already knew about it. I was just saying the whole thing is unfortunate. My apologies.

That’s where I sit on the issue, as well. The “casting couch” has been a thing since forever. Hell, the idea of sleeping your way to the top has been a thing for as long as horny white dudes have been in positions of authority. It’s only magnified in Hollywood because it’s an industry centered on vanity. I think Wangstein’s a creepy mother****er, but I’m also skeptical of the victim rhetoric that is consistently employed. Being ***** and making a poor life decision that you now regret are two different things and only one of them makes you a victim. If some overweight slug propositions you and you agree to it on the basis that “this is going to get me places,” to my mind, that’s world’s apart from that same slug saying “eat my *** or you’ll never work in this industry again.” Both supersleazy and unethical, to be sure, but one has a very obviously staggered power dynamic where someone is clearly being victimized and the other? Not so much.
But yeah, I’m in total agreement on this being nothing more than a masturbatory exercise in sanctimony wherein Harvey falls on the sword and the rest of Hollywood put those acting chops to good use in showing the world how “woke” they are and totally shocked by all of this behavior that they had *no idea* was going on, and making sure that everyone knows Weinstein represents the exception to the rule and not the rule, itself.
