DC rips Marvel off.
Marvel rips DC off.
Roses are red.
Water is wet.
That would put it behind such DC titles as Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice ($166 million) and Suicide Squad ($133.7 million). Box-office observers note that Warners has yet to make its final marketing push. Also, rival superhero title Thor: Ragnarok, which debuts domestically on Nov. 3, could be obscuring tracking. Thor could debut as high as $125 million for Marvel Studios and Disney
"Ride aint over yet. My man. Whoaaaaaaaaa!!!" [emoji23][emoji23] alien invasion: check. Light beam: check. Funny quips/ one liners: check check. Superheroes come together: checkkkkk. All that from the trailers. I truly hope the movie itself is different from "that other franchise". For the average moviegoers (non geeks / not comic book savvy) this movie will just look like a total ripoff. BUT it may work in their favor lol

Then 2nd weekend it dropped 500% lol
Well, comics inherently use the same themes/tropes and usually very similar visual gimmicks, so I don't really understand this "it's been done before/I've already seen that" argument...
Portals/Light Beams, alien invasions, getting together to save the world, etc etc etc, have all been present in comics for basically ever.
The only thing that used to distinguish MCU from DCEU was the latter's more serious tone, which, alas, did not find favor with the average movie-going public.
So now we have this presumably "lighter" JL.
Big deal.
But to argue that "we've seen this before" as something to hold against this movie is kinda silly IMHO.
Sneak peek of the new score:
Starts off good and has a couple moments but pretty generic overall.
I think at about 1:55-2:10 it sounds kind of like the Nolan Batman theme? He really did mean he was going to be bringing all these sounds together
Ha! To be fair bvs was also projected low. Same as WW. Both way exceeding expectations.

Holy crap he stole the Terminator theme!
Listen to the underlying rhythm!
Even phoning it in Zimmer managed to pull off a nice soundtrack.
No wonder why Elfman wanted to lean on the classic themes.
JXL feels like a huge loss right now.
