Oh god the WW theme is freaking awesome another instant classic in WB long list of classic superhero themes afterall we can’t forget MOS and Nolan’s trilogy of gorgeous themes.

Now that being said I still prefer the BvS version of WW theme mixed in with the MOS music (Their War Here/Is She With You) than I do the new version where they let loose with that super hot Tina Guo cellist.

Now if someone could please step in and correct me if i’m wrong but am I right in thinking that the Tina Guo WW theme different than her BvS version?

It is different, I also prefer the BvS version.

Holy crap, Elfman also riped off Ang Lee's Hulk :lol

So what your saying is we should all just watch the hearing em-pared version of Justice League.

TDKR soundtrack beats it.

I just gave it another listen and I respectively disagree. I definitely prefer TDK over TDKR. Some songs are amazing on Rises, but the whole soundtrack for TDK is amazing.

Either way I think the point of this conversation was what made WB think that the DCEU had a music problem that needed to be fixed?

Of all the problems it did have music was not one of them and if anything shame on WB for not recognizing that MOS/BvS had some of the best pounding themes ever put to a superhero movie or any movie for that matter.

I think Zimmer had a lot of preassure on him to deliver something as memorable as Williams theme. His music was good, but not Williams good. So he dropped out and got the generic Elfman to replace him. Told him to throw in some familiar music and here we are.

You see I don’t know if it’s possible for any piece of movie music to ever reach that level of recognition as JW Superman theme did into culture just like no new SW movie no matter how great, like RO was, will ever have the same cultural impact as the OT did.

I mean christ they even play the JW Superman score at my local mall, water fountain light show and ice rink lol.

I know that these days Zimmer often gets dismissed as being over-exposed or what not but truth be told I've been a pretty big fan of his work going all the way back to Days of Thunder, Broken Arrow and Crimson Tide. And just when I think "eh, Zimmer" a movie like BR 2049 comes out and blows me away all over again.

I know that his Superman and Blade Runner work will always live in the shadow of the original scores (which were both pretty much perfect) but I think it would go the other way too. If for whatever reason Spielberg wanted to remake Crimson Tide I can't imagine even John Williams doing as good a job that Zimmer did with that particular score.

Quick recap of the last 4 pages.

Elfman sucks
Zimmer is great
TDK/TDKR music is cool
MOS/BVS soundtrack > JL
JL ST is bland
Ang Lee Hulk
MCU music sucks
Bad Russian stereotypes
Junkie XL is cool
Riddler gif

I agree.

Yeah that Crimson Tide main theme is incredible, it demands to be played loud. Gladiator is another score that I would not swap out for anything else.

Strangely, enough I think prefer the Batman Animated series rendition to the 89 version. It seems just a tad darker in that performance. Still jarring as all hell when put up against the warehouse scene from BvS, but the ending of the theme and the gargoyle stance from JL would be perfect.

I love the scores for Edward Scissorhands and Raimi Spider-Man. But yeah other than Spider-Man Elfman's style really only seems to suit Burton films for the most part.

I was thinking mostly how he completely ruined willy womka and corpse bride with his weird congos jazzy bs music....

Social media embargo lifts. Pointing at a FUN movie with forgettable villain. I think bvs fans will not like it as much and marvel fans will eat it up lol
