Ive been thinking and i think the running was meant to imitate a cartoon run. it definitely makes me think of this

tumblr_mv2uuuqY2W1r4nnq3o2_400.gif
No man, looks nothing like that, that gif is proper acceleration technique, if stylized, first you take short really wide forceful strides when you come from down your kneeling position until you're up straight, and then you take the long strides swinging your knees up.

Flash was twisting his ankles and knees all weird, and tossing his arms around like a moron and turning his head from side to side, if he was trying to do proper running technique, he didn't learn anything at all, and I bet his trainer was frustrated with that scene, if he had a trainer at all.

^ Man, these ****ers could run on water.

That was my reaction exactly.

I kept asking myself "Why the **** is he running like an imbecile?

It wasn't even laughter-inducing. It was just annoying. I rolled my eyes just as I did during every absurd aerial flip and leap made by the Amazons in WW.

The Amazons and Wonder Woman sure do grunt a lot too. I realize Gal Gadot doesn't have a lot of acting range, but between B v S, WW, and this movie, she must have made that "UNNNNGGHH!!" noise about 250 times.

Well I saw it last night and went in thinking it'll be at least passably enjoyable.. But how wrong I was! It was an unmitigated disaster. There be spoilers below.

Honestly I don't think even an extended cut can save it either, it's obvious Zacks 2 part vision was severely compromised by the studio even before they canned him / he walked off or before Joss stepped in.

The opening credits, total zack style, the world going to hell... Leading to some super campy batman scene that looks like it regressed even past Batman 1989? Really Joss, is that where we are nowadays? When he was holding onto the parademon and floating around it looked so damn hokey! And we went from him taking out a room full of trained martial arts killers armed with guns, freaking flame throwers and grenades in no time in BVS to playing hide and seek behind a water tower with one fat dude with a gun?

No question that was Joss. Well there's too much to complain about lol so I'm not going to get into all that. I'm just going to talk about superman. Suffice to say there was only one moment in the movie I really liked. And that was when they were fighting superman and he was holding them all at bay and flash runs up from the side and Superman has that insanely cool/creepy head turn/ stare down. Pure awesome, like a comic page come to life.

The rest was ****. Joss even made Supermans suit look bad somehow, it just fit oddly or something and he has no eye to see that it's not sitting right. And his weird superman close ups where you can see how crooked Henry's teeth are. Dude, if you want me to believe he's not British don't show me those teeth lol. There's a reason in 2 movies as supes I never even noticed that yet!

And worst of all though some people like the direction they took superman I feel it wasn't earned in any way. He didn't learn anything, he didn't say he had a new perspective after death for whatever reason, nope, I'm back as a cartoon cutout 'hopeful' version of myself now for no reason. And his whole resurrection plot was insanely dumb too, there were a million ways to do that better.

And lastly after all the excellent action sequences in mos and BVS superman basically just punches things a couple of times, does his ice breath, and floats with his cape in the wind very much like Superman the movie... Which was made in 1978...

And then there's elfman. Honestly as much as I cared before I don't anymore coz his music actually goes fine with the rest of the turd sandwich I just saw.

Well I hope in all the cut material there's something worth putting together an extended edition, but only if they excise every single frame Joss shot and replace every single Elfman note. I hope so but I'm really doubting it. The original story with part 1 ending with Supermans resurrection as a warlord and the JL losing to him and steppenwolf to be saved by lanterns sounded so much cooler.

Oh one last note. What the hell was up with that one random ass family

His bottom teeth are a smidge out of alignment but his top teeth are fine :dunno

I think most did love him after avengers, but after ultron it was clear it was a one time thing. And I think people hated on him for cheating on his wife, but considering how many Hollywood types do that I don't know why the hate was more. Maybe because he's a self described feminist?

As to the teeth comment, that was just going off on a tangent and going overboard with the complaining :) I don't care much about that, just illustrating Joss poor shot composition that makes them look worse than they are. And I don't think all British people have bad teeth lol.

I see the petition for the extended Snyder/ Junkie cut is almost upto 100k. Apparently Bens stunt double and Snyders cinematographer are also on board saying they want to see it come out

It *was* kinda funny how Bats turned up at Heroes Park, breathless, several minutes after everyone else!

Haha true. He seemed out of breath quite often actually.

Ok wait didn’t people love Whedon after avengers? Or was I imagining that?

Well, personally I enjoyed that film and so all seemed to bode well for AoU, especially with the Hulkbuster announcement....and then it was all bit meh and repetitious. The Ultron drones = Chitauri, the Sokovia thing = portal in the sky, same kind of jokes, same comedy dismissal of the main villain.

There was also a thing around that time with Whedon criticising Jurassic World for being sexist and yet AoU raised some serious feminist eyebrows with some of the stuff he wrote for Black Widow. And more recently the revelations about him being a serial cheater on his wife going back to the Buffy days made him seem rather disingenuous given how he portrayed himself in the past.

I'm still in disbelief over how truly putrid this movie was in every conceivable way.

My 70 year old parents are planning on seeing this at some point over Thanksgiving weekend. My dad grew up reading all the early silver age stuff so he loves the characters and even watches all the CW shows every week. So he might be able to look past the stupidity of it and enjoy it. But the idea of my poor mom sitting there trapped in the theater while that retarded looking CGI villain blabs on and on just depresses me. Maybe she can take a nap.

:lol :lol :lol

Thank you for writing what I was feeling but i'm too retarded to write myself.

Perfect review.

This movie offered nothing more than just a few punches because I certainly didn’t buy into Cyborg’s I want to live dialogue at the end because they never sold me on his i’m better off dead in the beginning.

Superman was just a wasted mess of a character they had no idea what to do with him.

Look at their dilema.

If they left Superman to Steppenwolf he would’ve stopped Steppenwolf in 1 minute leaving no big baddie for the JL to fight.

So they had to take Superman out of the fight to now go save people we’ve never even seen in that wasteland.

Just horrible at all conceivable levels of story telling.

This onion has one layer, stink.

AOU is Shakespeare compared to this.

If this movie was a straight to DVD animated film, it would be passable. Probably even better than many of them (Superman: Doomsday in particular).
It's just that this is a live-action film, with decent casting for the most part. It's not surprising that many of us expected better than what it was.
But I don't understand the hatred.....I found it bland, but not rage-inducing. Maybe I need to rewatch it?

I do hate the moment when Batman was writhing in an unflattering way, and made a ridiculous self-effacing joke about his injuries, out loud to no one in particular.

That was just a weird "insert joke here" moment.

Mustache, cgi, jokes, running style none of it would’ve mattered had there been substance.

They tried adding a layer of nuance when Steppenwolf said the alliance of men, atlanteans and amazonians split up due too selfishness but that never went anywhere not that I was expecting LOTR but still at least expand on that.
