Saw this on Tuesday with the family. I'd give it 2 1/2 out of 4 stars. Some parts were great, others...not so much. I thought Batman vs Superman was much better. The studio tried too hard to lighten this movie up.

Same here. Wife & daughter thought it was too fluffy and we all thought the CGI in some scenes was cheap looking. Still think BVS is the best movie in the DCU with WW close second.

The movie certainly moves fast but it's in a rush to show how shallow the plot is.

Without a doubt my biggest issue with the film... The plot is awful, silly, and full of plot holes.


My new observations:

The movie opens with a depressing sad song that belongs at a funeral too illustrate Superman's death having a negative impact on the world and the opening title card is a depressing slow motion waving flag with JL written on it.

Now go look at the heroic opening title card of Avengers. Who opens a feel good movie with a depressing song and title card!

Superman's fight with the JL was a-lot less impressive this time around.

I always felt it was a little short with his Head butt of Wonder Woman and the Flash scene being the highlight. IMO this is what the film should have been more focused on.. First half of the film anyways.

Cyborg was just a horrible addition to the team he really did nothing useful.

Disagree here.. I could care less about him as a comic book hero (love him in Teen Titans go though ) But I thought he was the most human and probably had the most "growth" that you felt the film was lacking.

WW acting during Superman's resurrection is truly awful.

Agreed... Her acting in general goes from bad to passable

This time WW butt and cleavage shots were very noticeable there were quite a bit. Umm perfect lol.

Film needed more of it.

Climatic battle also didn't hold up.

Hmmm I still liked it.. I hate the ending of "fear" defeating Steppenwolf.. Just silly.

Worst use of the Batmobile ever!

I hate the mass murdering towing of villains cars from BvS more..

What was your issue.. The sirens?? i thought it was basically doing all the same stuff it did in BvS minus the murder of humans.

Superman did nothing in this movie other than punch SW a few times.

Yes.... More Superman would have helped.. But much like Hulk in the original Avengers, I thought the quality was there.. 10 extra miin of Superman being Superman would have been great though.

Batman's fighting during the climax was a convoluted mess made even worse with him shooting that laser gun.

While I like the action and don;t see the convoluted mess that you saw.. I personally found it easy to follow... I 100% agree with you about Batman and the laser gun.. That was all sorts of stupid.. IMO that was by far the worst Batman moment in the film.

The movie has no stakes there are no humans anywhere other than that one family. Deadpool was the same way but that was because of the constraints from its smaller budget.

Agree with you on this... No human element at all... But I was fine with that.. Plenty of time for hero fighting action.. Though Superman caring the building was a highlight for me.

Seriously i'm not joking the worst MCU movies offer way more in the way of substance and conflict in their plots and narratives.

I guess.. Hela was funny and all but she just wanted to take over Asgard (much like Steppenwolf and earth) and there were no stakes in that film either because it was just a laugh a minute romp... Thor did have some growth though.. Probably as much as Cyborg

Hell if Hela was a bad CG character and did not tell jokes she would have been just as uninteresting as Steppenwolf..

Her Hotness carried how good of a villain she was

AOU climatic battle against Ultron is filled with grace and elegance when compared to that SW battle.

I guess... I find AOU filled with eye rolling moments.. Many eye rolling moments.. The Slow mo 360 shot of all the heros fighting robots is a MCU low IMO.. So corny. No wait.. Opening traking shot in the beginning of the film was the Low point I think.. Blah...

I also hate Robots.. Aliens are not much better but at least you know they feel it when they get punched.. Might as well be fighting toasters in AOU..

I would say overall AOU is a better made film due to the non action moments.. But I thought all the action in AOU was pretty bad with the exception of a few moments..

This movie barely delivered on the Saturday morning cartoon front.

Well I have been saying this to my friends.. I cant really argue with people that hated this film or disliked it.. There are problems aplenty.

I find it strange that I enjoyed it but hated Thor 3 and AOU..

At the same time I don;t get how people enjoy AOU and Thor 3 and hate this

Its will forever go down as one my great mysteries

I am willing to give Thor 3 a second chance.. But man I hate AOU..

That was NOT a fun opening night.

I went from a "Chewie we're home" high to Charles Manson thoughts in a span of 2 hours lol

When that emo sith killed Han my blood was boiling.

Cgi Maz made me cringe.

Flat looking locations and indestructible Falcon made my butt hole pucker up.

Joking Finn made me sweat.

Screaming Hux made me laugh.
