Broke and happy
You’re probably right lol
I can see the confusion, The Thing is a true masterpiece and worthy of its recognition.
JL will never go The Thing route it will remain a bad movie.
Thats Incorrect even though The Thing was not a hit it was nowhere near the level of hated on like Justice League. Not a lot got it at the time but never had the hatred of what we see today with films. Carpenter never blamed the movies unsuccessful for not being able to make films and be in more directorial films with big names studios. I've met him and anytime you bring up the film he enjoys talking about it. Halloween is the movie he hates talking about the most and rarely will give you a answer that you want to hear he prefers the thing and is proud of the film. It's never a little too late thing with him he enjoys that there is now a cult status for it and most of all carpenter loves to do his music these days. He has no regrets so your statement jye is incorrect about all of it and the thing should never be compared to justice league bombing status. It’s like a hail mary pass to save JL, to save the DCEU even!
It’s like “LOOK SEE THE SNYDER CUT WAS A MASTERPIECE AFTERALL!”
I guess it’s worth a shot lol
But look at 82 The Thing.
Movie was hated on release as much as JL but now hailed as a misunderstood masterpiece.
But it’s not a different cut of the movie, it’s the same movie as originally released in 82.
The biggest question right now in geek land is WHAT WILL WB DO WITH THE DCEU!
I didn’t say he hates The Thing he’s very proud of the actual movie I said he hated what the reviews and box office bomb did to his career.
He has gone on record to say it hurt him in Hollywood.
The Thing absolutely was critically panned and absolutely was a box office bomb not that it was ever going to beat the higher budget family friendly ET from hollywood darling Spielberg.
Plus DC is slaying 'em on the TV side. That tends to get overlooked.
Anyhoo, I loved BvS and JL, and aren't particularly pumped for IW. I realize that makes me an anomaly.
No need to be depressed over the failure of JL.
One day in the future DC movies will be the cinematic leaders in quality while Marvel will be going thru their slump.
The pendulum is always in motion.
I don't think there's that much hatred towards JL. In general, I think it has had a better overall critical reception than BvS had at the time.
It's a lighter movie than its predecessors, it tries to be upbeat, but it suffers from a lot of problems stemming from being the result of way too many people weighing in on it.
The problem is that it does not follow Snyder's ideas and vision for the DCEU, so it looks and feels disjointed. And for people who liked Snyder's approach, it's a letdown.
It probably wouldn't have fared much better at the box office even if WB had let Snyder do his thing, but at least we would've had a much more coherent trilogy, and MoS/BvS fans would've been happy.
But it really isn't a terrible movie, it's just that it isn't as good at being light(er) as the MCU flicks, and it lost the "grandiose" tone that Snyder put into his films.
I actually feel this might happen if marvel doesn’t get the xmen or ff back. I don’t know who the hell they’ll use once iron man and cap are gone .
