IMO the big issue with JL is that it felt like two different films due to the two different directions. They weren’t able to recreate what Donner did with Superman II and then how Lester finished Superman II :lecture

:exactly:

Snyder didn't have enough time to finish his movie and Whedon didn't have enough time to make a good movie full stop. That's why it felt like a bad episode of Buffy in terms of tone and dialogue

According to Revenge of the Fans, the studio knew it wasn’t going to hit it big, and were okay with that. However, instead of pouring more money and time into the film (and delaying it), they opted to release it and get it over with.

This is apparently the reason why they allowed the CG to be so horrible, and is also why they didn’t bring in Steppenwolf actor Ciaran Hinds to amp up his role after Darkseid’s involvement was nixed. It’s also why Geoff Johns, Joss Whedon, or even Zack Snyder were on the press junket circuits, and why WB didn’t push Joss Whedon’s name int he marketing.

Now that the movie has come out, they can go forward with their course correction for Aquaman and all other films moving forward.
That being said, it doesn’t sound like even they knew it would perform as bad as it did. But they don’t blame Justice League, but rather Batman v Superman, as they believe it left a bad taste in many fans’ mouths.

Should have let Snyder finish his vision and release that version then.

Or they could have just held off and finished the movie properly and then release their re-shot one when it was actually complete.

Aka, WB are *******.

This part hurts. It's the Justice League, and WB made no efforts to save it. FFS.

...but..I thought that's what Justice League was doing. So now are we course correcting the course correction?

Just ****ing Reboooooooooooot *********!

WB - ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
