Re: [Kato's Work] Indy Jacket, new shirt and pants version pre-order (pls read p.48)

Pretty sure it's just regular leather dressing by Pecards. It's like $1.50 for their smallest container.

Considering selling my V1 set. Complete with HT satchel, leather belt, gun holster, and boots. PM me if interested.

Tell them how you apply it Dane. You love doing that. :rotfl

Re: [Kato's Work] Indy Jacket, new shirt and pants version pre-order (pls read p.48)

Wow I never thought about treating the jacket. I had the original one and never once thought to do that but I guess it makes sense considering it is actually a small leather coat.

So I have a question. With Kato making these new jackets worn and weathered looking, do you think putting this treatment on would distort that look?

Thanks, jbeltram!

I just want to point out, to save Kato from any more PMs, that I modified mine to make it the color you see there. The stock jacket is not the same color. :)

Looks great Marf. What did you do to modify the color? Did you apply that leather treatment you were talking about or did you do something else further?

Re: [Kato's Work] Indy Jacket, new shirt and pants version pre-order (pls read p.48)

Thanks, joe!

Actually, the Pecard's leather dressing wasn't getting the jacket any darker than what you saw in my first pics...so I had to take it a step further. I ended up using a flat black acrylic paint designed especially for leather. I diluted it to a very thin consistency, then applied wash after wash until I got the color I wanted. Not for the faint of heart!

Re: [Kato's Work] Indy Jacket, new shirt and pants version pre-order (pls read p.48)

( or even steal yr wife's /mother 's Olay hand cream XDDD)

I got some Olay lying around (not mine :D) does this work at conditioning the leather?

Also is it ok to wet the leather? Not soak it but to lightly wet it and wrinkle up the sleeves so when it dries the wrinkles will stay.

I would say so. Mine was a little wet after painting it, and I think it helped form the wrinkles you see in my pic on the last page. :duff
