Re: Keaton Batman

:lol

Same here for SW. Damn SW for having Taco Bell as the sponsor for the Special Editions and Ep I. I ate soooo much T Bell that my stomach is still reeling. That and the SW holograms in the Doritos. I got hooked on Doritos because of that.

Back in the day I was heavily swayed by licenses. :D

I still have this problem. You know how much Mountain Dew Game Fuel I've drank in the last few months? I even ran around and cleaned out stores because its starting to disappear. :D

Didn't mean to go off-topic there.

Re: Keaton Batman

I haven't had the time to go back into this thread, missed most of it. I'm very tempted to buy one of these. How is the articulation on them? What type of body is he using?

From Shawn,

The figures are built on Dragon Neo bodies.

The legs are articulated pretty much the standard way and nicely done, the waist has nice articulation to it and the rubber used for the chest armor has room between the center of it and the body so it goes with the waist when you bend it, and the arms have good articulation, but the rang of that is limited because of the points on the wings of the cowl, they get in the way and you also don't want to post it in a way to risk ripping the cape. I'd say overall, from the shoulders down, it's a very "action" figure, but from the shoulders up it's much more a high end collectible meant to just look fantastic, which it does. The only other thing to note, the hands/gauntlets are rubber cast and put on the handless arms of the figure body in place, you can't rotate them like other 1/6 figures, but they're in fists anyway so there's not much else you'd really want to do with them anyhow. Being a Keaton Batman, I think the articulation very nicely conveys Keaton's physical stature and performance in the film, so it's a great figure of that version.

Re: Keaton Batman

I emailed Shawn a couple of days ago to get on the list, but no response yet. :(

Maybe it's because I sent it from my work account?

Don't panic, Shawn doesn't always get back to you right away, but he is great with communication, and if he's already into group 4 with no notice of group 3 shipping yet, I imagine he's EXTREMELY busy right now cranking these out, you'll get on the list I'm sure.

Oh, I'm not panicking at all. Not in a hurry. Just want to make sure I get on the list is all.

Well I said panic because this figure is panic worthy in my eyes. I'm really leaning towards calling it my favorite figure I've gotten this year, and I have the ALIENS Warrior and the HT Endo, but this figure is a simplistic masterpiece and the deal is as beautiful as the figure

Well, it certainly appears that way... and your pics are amazing! I can't wait to get one of these eventually. :rock

BTW, where is dekadent dave these days? Was he banned while I was on my self-imposed hiatus?

Re: Keaton Batman

GREAT shots there MF! I am stunned! I know Shawn has to be...
I hope you can do some like this someday with my Batman, for me! :D
These just make this figure ring out! Amazing stuff!

Funny you should say that, his ban was self-imposed, while you were on your self-imposed hiatus :D

But I agree with Sean1, this is a figure that would be panic worthy... he's just straight badass :rock

Re: Keaton Batman

These pics are amazing!!!!! Especially the last one... if I don't know your work, I would have thought in the last one you cheated and simply used a screenshot!!

Thanks dude, as much of the credit goes to Shawn's sculpt work being so dead on. The screens I've been most proud of so far all have light from a single direction, it's been challenging having one physical light to shoot with and getting light cast on the figure from multiple points while still getting it to fall on the figure properly because the design makes the light create very specific shapes. It's a fun figure to shoot though, I have a few more frames to add to rescuing Vickie later, then it's onto the final confrontation :)
