Re: Keaton Batman

Agreed Coco, boy it really is a beautiful figure as captured in that second pic, I can't wait for this! :blackbat:cool:

I look at that second picture several times a day. It's too cool.
I can't wait to get this figure and do a side by side comparison review with my Rojas' Bats.

Re: Keaton Batman

I don't see any debate here on the two fabrics...

Clearly the "old one" is far superior. Keaton's cape didn't even have that pebble pattern anyway; it was more like smoothed leather.

Re: Keaton Batman

Paul, do pass on our thanks to Shawn for his efforts, he could easily just crank out some figures and say here you go, but he's really going the distance to hook us up with the best Batmans he can.

Re: Keaton Batman

I agree with MaulFan here. The fact that Shawn offered these at such a great group rate was fantastic enough and now he's going to all this trouble to make us Freaks happy.

I hope Shawn recieves alot of work from the board. I know I won't hesitate to deal with him in the future.

Oh, I thanked him in my email for all of us. I think he does dip into this thread so I'm sure he'll appreciate our gratitude. :D

Well, if he reads this or you get in touch with him, once I get mine and photograph, if any are to his liking he can use them to sell his work.

Well, I'm not sure he reads this thread, just guessing, which is why I thanked him on our behalf via email.

Your photos will be so cool, really pop the fig in proper settings. I think you'll love the look of the gold belt against the rubber black outfit armor, the gloss Bat emblem, the face paint apps are excellent, just superb and then the poses you'll get...

Can't wait to maybe see some fig shots cut against Film backgrounds! You will have a blast with that.

Ya, I have to say, the head/cowl alone pretty much sold me, it's just so beautifully sculpted, and I really love the overall design of the Keaton cowl. I grew up watching the original, I was about 5 when it came out and Batman was my favorite superhero; I had the Batcave, the Batmobile, the whole works. I'm a sick **** though, one time as a kid, I was with my parents driving somewhere and we drove by a burning field in our town and I just somehow deemed it fitting to say it'll be a hot time in the cold town tonight like Jack in the movie lol.

Re: Keaton Batman

I agree completely on going with the vinyl cape. The pebbled one doesn't look in any way like a cape, or how it should hang. It makes Batman look like a head on a cone. Even if it were supple, it detracts from the look. Whereas the vinyl version compliments the look of the suit.

Re: Keaton Batman

Seems ALL of us thus far agree on the original pleather cape, including Shawn. :lol

Yeah, that's my feeling, too. I think you need something you can work with. If not, might as well not even make figures. Just mount a head and cape on a stick lol

Re: Keaton Batman

I am thinking I might have to jump in on this one, can't resist the pictures...

Any talk of a group Batman Returns version for a companion piece? Does Shawn even make that version? I actually liked the armor looking muscle chest piece on that suit. I would love to have those two to join my Batman Begins figure...but let's not talk about the Batman & Robin or Batman Forever disasters...:monkey1

Re: Keaton Batman

I like the more natrually falling fabric... The new stuff looks too stiff and ruins the look of the figure imo. But I tell you all, I really can't wait for this figure as it's the first whole custom figure I've ever gotten... Can't wait I tell you. Kudos you Shawn!!!

BTW, MaulFan, if your photos are used for his future eBay Auctions he'll be selling this like Hotcakes! Hotcakes I say!

Re: Keaton Batman

I'm preferring the original look as well, but thank Shawn, for looking out for us :rock

Re: Keaton Batman

Too bad it wouldn't fit with this Batman, at least in film accurracy, but it'd be nice if someone made a high quality Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face.

Re: Keaton Batman

Seems everyone wants the original pleather cape but please specify that to Shawn when he contacts you re: Your order...

:google

You like Lee's Two-Face?

I can't say I cared too much for his pink hair, red tiger-stripe half-suit and steel-toed cowboy boot.

That said, I do have a 1/6th garage kit of Tommy's Two-Face that is quite nice.

Well, the outfit leaves room to be desired, mainly I ejoyed the makeup effects, and the shades of purple worked into his deformed side.

I definitely think the costume designer went way too Punk-meets-Tarzan with all the animal prints and leather. He looked like a bizarre psychodelic Halloween costume. Of course, the whole movie had that feel. Gone was the dark Gotham... in with the glitz and wham-bam glam. I didn't think Schumacher could outdo himself... until Batman +Robin.
