Re: Keaton Batman

Didn't I tell you guys to not talk about those two Batman abortions.........:emperor :D

Re: Keaton Batman

Thank God Keaton bailed by then, I can tell you, can't say how I know but I know that Warners couldn't have been happier to get rid of Schumacher after those Drag Show Batmans he did, especially Batman and Robin.

Re: Keaton Batman

I definitely think the costume designer went way too Punk-meets-Tarzan with all the animal prints and leather. He looked like a bizarre psychodelic Halloween costume. Of course, the whole movie had that feel. Gone was the dark Gotham... in with the glitz and wham-bam glam. I didn't think Schumacher could outdo himself... until Batman +Robin.

If I'm ever asked if I've been to a drag show I'll have to respond, do either of the Schumacher Batman movies count?

EDIT: Damn! While composing my response, pjam beat me to the Schumacher/drag show reference.

Yes, you can tell them the ice "skating" scene in Batman and Robin was a Drag show along with all the nipple and butt shots. Schumacher was a total Queen.

Cowabunga!

Re: Keaton Batman

Thankfully we were given Batman Begins to redeem the Batman film franchise. Hopefully, The Dark Knight will continue the success.

My Batman actor rankings.

1. Christian Bale
2. Michael Keaton
3. George Clooney
4. Adam West
5. Val Kilmer

Re: Keaton Batman

I liked Forever for what it was, but it was a step down from the first 2. O'Donnell played a good Robin. And as horrible as Batman and Robin was, I liked Arnold as Mr Freeze. Michael Gough ruled as Alfred in all of them.

Doesn't matter, in the end we got the better movie, Batman Begins.

Gotta be quick around here gdb. :D Actually, that reference was taken from WB Execs while it was shooting. The whole Studio was cringing by then and drag show was, by then, a catch all phrase.

Re: Keaton Batman

Everyone... Chill.

Let me guess... Plant Girl?

Uma gave an excellent performance IMO, inspired by the great Julie Newmar, even though she played Catwoman... the rest of it will never hold up, even as camp IMO.

:google

I thought she was terrible. Worst than Arnold. I didn't see the Newmar... she seemed to be channeling Scarlett O'Hara as played by Mae West.

Re: Keaton Batman

I had a wicked crush on Julie Newmar when I was a kid watching reruns of Adam West Batman, I used to get pissed when the other actresses filled in.

Uma borrowed a lot from Julie, her physical presence, movement and vocal delivery, there is NO doubt about that.

I'm sorry, I doubt it. :D

Julie was every kid's wet dream though at one time. Those curves...

I've seen Julie TV Batman stuff recently and it's clearly there to me, I can see it anyway. The way she walks, the way she talks... delivers lines so softly and purr-fectly, lots of similarities there. It was obvious to me anyway.
