How can you not see how a guy shooting tiny little children in the face point blank with a gun couldn't possibly change someone's out look on the world?

Little. Tiny. Children. Guns. To the face. Dead. For no reason. At all. In any way. Just because some spergy ****** decided they needed to go.

Please don't make out like I am trivialising that atrocity. That's just moronic. In none of my statements have I trivialised Sandy Hook.

I am merely saying, why now, after all the similar type massacres that have gone on before SH, does he feel like he can't support this film because of the violence attached to it? Age aside, the massacres that went on before we're no less barbaric.

Now we can get to the calm discussions.

Anyway, look, i'm not Jim Carrey. Did Sandy Hook bother me? Sure. Will that stop me from enjoying gory movies? Not at all. Why? Because that stuff doesn't bother me that much emotionally in the long run.

But to someone older, who probably never heard of anything like that before happening (here in the US), it kicked a lot of people in the nuts. Because it was just so insane. And probably helped that people were still affected by the shooting here in Colorado. Which I definitely was.

Plus the other 2 or 3 shootings that happend around that time too. It was a mess. And Sandy Hook was the tipping point for a lot of people.

Surely he's seen other violent media between now and when the shooting happened, how come he didn't bring it up before?

Because he didn't work on a film that involved killing children. He's not damning anything. He just feels bad he made Kick-*** 2 now. Had Sandy Hook not happend, he wouldn't have had any problems.

Had Kick-*** 2 not been made, and Hook happened, he wouldn't have taken the role.

Because he didn't work on a film that involved killing children. He's not damning anything. He just feels bad he made Kick-*** 2 now. Had Sandy Hook not happend, he wouldn't have had any problems.

Perhaps he saw a cut of the film and seeing himself do violent things stirred something up.

But it's strange he never mentioned the sandy hook shooting before now, it's been six months.

He worded his feelings well, but he agreed to promote the movie. Since the movie has nothing to do with any of that unpleasentness it's a shame it's being cast in a negative light by one of it's own stars

It could go either way. I think most people who are going to see Kick *** 2 are well aware of the content in the film. Carrey isn't going to stop them. I understand what he's saying. I can't disagree or agree because I'm not him. But i'm seeing the movie regardless because I want too. And Sandy Hook most likely won't be in my mind.


That being said, if this hurts the film, then i'll sing a different tune.

From what I understand, Jim Carrey is going through a lot of issues right now. Personally, I think he's gone a bit off the deep end. Maybe he's just too stressed out. I don't know. He should just go somewhere and enjoy his millions for awhile.
