Does it matter? What could he possibly do to this movie? All he said was he doesn't want to be apart of it.

Why is everyone so cynical? Why does everyone care what Jim Carrey does.

Well, i've been a long time fan of his. But even taking that out of the equation....I don't know. I'm just done with people jumping right to conclusions. Wait it out. See what happens.

If he takes his check, and buys a million dollars worth of ****, or does another violent movie, or something, then we have a problem. If not....well....then he stood by his word.

Also, seeing ****ty movies this summer has made me a bitter dude.

From what I understand, Jim Carrey is going through a lot of issues right now. Personally, I think he's gone a bit off the deep end. Maybe he's just too stressed out. I don't know. He should just go somewhere and enjoy his millions for awhile.

I am just going on what was widely publicated. It wasn't as if it was some sort of underground rumor or something.

You put in a a google search 'Will Smith Django'. There are some pretty big publications that ran the story. I doubt they would have all done that without good grounds. No smoke without fire.

Edit: I believe it was an interview with Entertainment Weekly, where he made the statement.

The father-of-three explained: 'Django wasn’t the lead, so it was like, I need to be the lead. The other character was the lead!'
The 'other character' the Hancock star was referring to was the bounty hunter - and Django's mentor - Dr. King Schultz played by Christoph Waltz.

Will claimed that before he resigned from the project he tried to convince director Quentin Tarantino to give Django a more central role in the plot.
The rapper-turned-actor playfully revealed: 'I was like, "No, Quentin, please, I need to kill the bad guy!"'
