Re: Kong: Skull Island

Just because an image is CGI, the artist(s) still need a sense of composition and lighting and all that, computers won't magically make awesome shots. To me it doesn't matter if your tool is a camera or a computer, the artistic sensibilities are the same, it's just a matter of how you use your particular instrument.

Re: Kong: Skull Island

First trailer was better and more understated. They went full on popcorn with this one.

Re: Kong: Skull Island

nobody better tell kong about what happened to his cousin at the Cincinnati zoo.

Re: Kong: Skull Island

What I always wanted, an understated movie about a giant ape lol.

:lol :lol :lol

I mean in any Kong movie, once Kong is revealed "understatements" get thrown out the window like a monkey flinging poo.

Grab a beer, a bucket of popcorn and watch a big ape smash stuff. Kong would

Watch, someone will claim this movie was made as a direct response to Harambe.:lol

Re: Kong: Skull Island

It was actually very good, there was actual cinematography in it. That bit with the dragofly was great, but my interest has decreased with this trailer.

Interesting, that trailer must have been overshadowed by some other film, trailers or news story?

The last thing I remember hearing was that Michael Keaton was in it, but then he left or something.

Well, it was dropped at comic-con :lol and nobody really cares about King Kong anymore.

Man, that was a good trailer.

Buuuut all the foreshadowing and mood is is ruined with the latest trailer, but it's ok bro it's just a big monkey movie lmao, I suppose it's ok, so we don't set our expectations too high.

Re: Kong: Skull Island

I can see why that first trailer didn't set the internet on fire. It's very "serious" and they focus heavily on the humans and keep Kong a "mystery." Godzilla tried something similar and the trailers worked, but the film was pretty boring. The first Kong trailer has that Godzilla vibe, so now with the second trailer they changed the tone to make it seem more like fun adventure and they're showing all the monsters to get that Jurassic World audience excited.

:lol Brie Larson has a good "holy ****" face.

Yeah the first trailer had a good tension feeling. This one had the 'murican action vibe. but if that's the tone of the movie at least people won't feel betrayed like they did with Godzilla 2014.

I'm setting my expectations to "hope it's good" Because I've been enjoying this string of giant monster movies we've been getting. They're my bread and butter as far as things I enjoy. Even though Godzilla and Pacific Rim were generally disappointing to most, I really like them both and I'm glad they did well enough to warrant sequels. So I hope this one follows.
