Nice Avengers assemble!

I have my Koto Hulk with my Bowen Avengers team. He fits perfectly!

I just got the Bowen Hawkeye off the bay to complete my team but didn't take pics yet. I like them all together so I don't put them in my Besta.

Nice collection!
Do you have a collection gallery thread?
None of them are nearly as awesome as the Conan Fury dio :)
I am gonna post some pics with the team when I get Hulk in on Wednesday. Can't wait!

Awesome collection CF79!

I have this Hulk of Kotobukiya and I like, but I I am thinking a repaint.

I have no words for your thor pf.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of this statue at all. I've got all the other avengers from this series, and after collecting Sideshow Comiquettes and PF's it's hard to have such a step down in quality. To me the price difference is worth it for owning a piece of art rather than something that feels like a toy. The paint apps on Koto are just too poor i in my opinion. I am selling my other avenger pieces.

I sort of agree, i'm not really liking this statue just due to paint quality and pant job for the pants. Yet i still feel like buying it... the green would really pop out in my display case against the other figures.

Paint apps have been Koto's weakness with the Fine Art line. Sometimes it's the choice of colors and other times it's the QC. If I'm not pleased with the paint app, I simply return the statue for a replacement. Hopefully, Koto gets their act together and matches Bowen's level of quality and consistency. It's strange because their ArtFX and ArtFX+ lines are painted immaculately. The strengths to me have always been the sculpts and this Hulk is no different. That and the 1/6 scale makes price and size more friendly for me.

The "toy" remark stings a bit, but I've endured enough paint debacles with PF statues Rogue, Psylocke, and Spider-Woman to temper my view. Can't say enough about the SS comiquettes though. They're not as tough to display given the size and their quality has been superb in my experience. I do wish SS would focus more on them and less on their PF gravy train. But it is their gravy train. Let's see if the price difference is still worth it by year's end. ;)

I say give it a shot. I can't get enough of mine. Purchase it from a retailer like Amazon, where you can return it hassle-free if you change your mind.

I agree with your view, friend. For years, I was a sucker for Sideshow until I got tired of the slow releases, over expensive stuff and poor quality control of recent times and I was never into Bowen. But when I saw the original Koto Deadpool, my heart dropped to the floor. It was perfection! Paint application was ok but Sosa's sculpt was magnificent. Everything went downhill from there. I stopped collecting SS and turn towards the Japanese company. I even got into the Bowen van wagon just to complement my Newly found Koto pieces.

Yes, koto suffers from more than random mediocre paint jobs but Erick Sosa's sculpts are its saving grace ( Magneto and Spidey are exceptions to the rule. The paint app was flawless). I never get tired of looking at them. We don't have to wait ages for releases, I can buy two for the price of a PF, I have more room in my shells, the action pose is great for thematic displays and I can always combine with Bowen, Hard Hero and diamond Select statues. For me, it is win-win all around.

Now, I do not want to discredit SS because they are a great company. The best if you ask me. Little by little things are getting back to normal over their end and they are getting better, but I can still remember the small edition sizes and the top notch overall quality. For the prices we used to pay, we got our money's worth. Now, no so much. Another thing that makes Koto/Sosa statues a must-buy, is that they become rare so fast and ultra expensive. Look at Classic Cap. Nobody care about it when it came out. Now, people are asking no less than $500 for it on ebay. It is a common occurrence with all Fine Art Statue Pieces nowadays. Even for the ones poorly done. Sosa is red hot!

Isnt this the last piece that Sosa is doing for Koto?

Sosa's Juggernaut is after this isn't it?

No and yes. Juggernaut is the next to be released and Sosa just finished the prototype for a new Brown Wolvie. He mentioned on his Facebook account, that Koto executives and art team were extremely excited with the final result (that is good news for all of us!). I am guessing that Koto is holding any type of promotion until the next big Con. It is just a marketing tool.

Now, talking about the end of Sosa's career at Koto, I wouldn't be so sure. He has worked with them for almost 5 years and he has built the reputation of the Japanese company here in the West. I am sure that Koto will try to exploit this relationship until the last minute. As a friend of mine on the other forum mentioned, everything that Sosa has produced under the Koto banner (even as a free-lancer), prototype or not, belongs to Koto, and after his departure, they will probably produce it and sell it. So there is still hope for Rogue, Sabretooth, the Iceman digital rendition and any other never shown proto piece.

I understand your view. I am still relatively new to statue collecting, and this is just my view so far. I haven't had to experience the delays from SS yet. Just based off of style and polish, I prefer SS. That being said I do love Sosa's sculpts, but I need good paints too. Bowen is too stiff of poses for me, but I do see the appeal and the quality does look good. I do think that SS does too many PF's though, I much prefer the fully sculpted pieces.

And sorry about the toy comment earlier, I have been collecting figures for a couple years now, so I have more experience in that realm. Many of my Hellboy figures and Street fighter figures have better paint apps than a $200 state from Koto. That's where my complain was coming in. I think if they could get the quality paint apps, their line could knock it out of the park. They are a great size and great sculpts.

Thanks B!

No collection gallery yet but in the process of setting up my Besta's, so soon!

You are right...it's hard to top that Conan dio!!

I'll be looking for your pics!

Not a problem, friend. I understand where you coming from. I've been there. ;)

Same here jp!

Kdawg did three digital sculpts for Bowen last year...Kingpin, Executioner and Brown costume Wolverine. Kdawg even said he liked the Wolvie the best but for some reason it did not come out with the other two last year. Now it's waiting for the phase 6 license to be approved before being released. From what I understand it's pretty hot jp!
