Lack of 1/6 Episode I figures

There are just way too many cool costumes and characters in the admittedly-weak Episode I to warrant the mere two offerings we have in the form of Qui-gon and Maul. I just realized this while watching Menace this evening.

Where's Nute Gunray? Queen Amidala in her wide variety of attire? Hell, round it up and give me an Episode I Obi-wan already!

The Naboo soldiers had some pretty cool threads. Especially Captain Panaka.

Anyone else feeling the lack?

Not just Episode 1 either, AOTC hasn't seen any love but Obi-Wan, TPM at least has Qui-Gon and Maul, for TPM specific anyway. Some PT Jedi cover multiple films.

I'd like to see more from TPM and AOTC. More than anything, I'd like a Padme, snowbunny is ok, but it's not a film version. Most people want TPM Queen, but I'd rather purple handmaiden dress from the end battle so we could get guns and accessories too, plus I like that look most, that or Arena Padme from AOTC. Anakin from both films would be nice too.

I hear you! A "film" version of her is long overdue, and for Episode One, the "Naboo Battle" one would be perfect...as you pointed out, she's have some cool accessories (Naboo Pistol, Ascension Gun, Communicator/Flash signal) and the outfit is interesting and still action-oriented.

As for the AOTC version, yes...the arena version is the most obvious choice, but I'd prefer the "Droid Factory" version of that outfit...unripped (safe that for an exclusive), with shawl and pistol.

And while there is a wealth of interesting costumed characters that would make great looking figures, I'd like to see a TPM Kenobi and an AOTC Anakin soon as well...

Well, I'd envision a 2 shirt set for that figure, hopefully, not just arena look, but that's the easiest way to explain the outfit. I'm with you, the full garbs from the time she's in it on Tattooine to the end of conflict on Geonosis would be ideal.

I'm thinking given how little there is 2 her, perhaps Padme TPM would be like Palpatine ROTS, a 2 pack, red Queen gown and purple handmaiden dress or Tattooine peasant look.

It's a cool costume, but for a figure, that red dress would just be so lackluster, no accessories, unless they made her throne, which would be cool, but otherwise, it'd be litterally a figure only, and for sure we wouldn't get LED lights to the base of the dress, so that takes it down a peg in "wow" factor, definitely a nice addition to a 2pack though.

That is the extent of TPM specific figures.

Mace Windu, Ki Adi Mundi, Plo Koon

Those cover all 3 PT films, so while yes TPM can be represented, there is still a lack of figures representing the movie. Aayla and Kit Fisto didn't show up until AOTC.

Specific film figures, TPM has 3, AOTC 1, and ESB 2. These 3 films need to see some love.

I would think from time to time, when they discover new things or talk more with Hot Toys, ideas are tossed around.

Hey may be backburnered for difficulty, but Chewbacca, R2-D2 and C-3PO cannot be dismissed, they're iconic characters in the SW universe.

A Captain Panaka could definetly fall into the Militaries line. Heck even Ric Olie or a Naboo pilot. Guess we will wait and see.
