You ain't kidding! I though Tommy Lee Jones was horrible in that movie, he was trying to out do Nicholson's Joker. Come to think of it that movie sucked big time.

I think Billy has a good, charismatic screen presence, good for a smooth talking politician. I don't know if he could play a villain like Two-Face, but I think he's fine playing a more political player type, which is essentially who Lando was in ESB, the main political figure in Bespin.

I was so pissed when Billy Dee wasn't Two-Face in the 3rd movie... I know it wasn't Burton's doing. But when I was a kid seeing the 1989 movie for the first time I was like; can't wait to see him turn into Two-Face in a sequel.

We're getting closer to being able to focus on the visually interesting 2nd and 3rd tier characters.
Lando is the last basic hero missing from the OT, so that's done now, just leaves Chewie and the droids. Granted there's room for alternat Vader's, but he's covered, we got Stormies and Sandies, TIE pilots and Biker Scouts are really the only missing Imperial Troops, get a Tarkin and ROTJ Emperor covered and that pretty much rounds off baddies for the OT.
I love the SW universe for it's diversity, but I would like at least 1 of every really main character in each trilogy, which basically means just needing a movie Padme of some sort from the PT and that's all set, though an Ep1 Obi-Wan to finish off the 4 looks of Obi-Wan would be nice too.
We're in a good spot, we're really close to having 1 of every major player represented, which in the first couple years of this license seemed might not happen without knowing how long Sideshow would keep making things, and now we're almost at a point where you can make the Greedos and such and mix a main guy variant in here and there.

I remember when in 1990,1991ish in summer camp a friend of mine had a really professional fan mock up poster with BDW as 2face. I wasn't a fan of Batman then and I was like "thats cool but why is the political guy all messed up"? I remember it had Robin too. That was before these type of fan art was popular. I thought it was the real thing.

I do think there's an element of racism to some of the Colt 45 stuff, but that doesn't mean I'm saying anyone here is a racist. The ads are pretty silly, and there's plenty there to make fun of without even touching race. But it's also true that it's hard to separate it from race since it was heavily marketed to black people using a prominent black celebrity, and a lot of people have criticized malt liquor in general for its negative effects on the black community.
But I don't buy the idea that people who dislike Lando are just being racist. I think that's unfair. I think a lot of it has to to with Billy Dee Williams himself, and the image he made for himself as an actor on and off the screen (and yes, Colt 45 is a part of that). I also think some people are unfairly characterizing Lando as somebody who betrayed Han Solo, forgetting that he also risked his life to save him and the rebellion. He's actually pretty similar to Han himself. Han originally left the rebels to their fate at the end of ANH but changed his mind and came back to save Luke at the last minute, but I've never heard anybody give him flack for that.

Granted I didn't mention him with Chewie, but the part you highlighted, notice I said basic heroes, meaning pretty much humans because there's pre-existing bodies. Yoda, Chewie and the droids are specialty items that they couldn't just whip together today.

What's so 'bad ass mofo' about Mace Windu? It must be Pulp-Fiction-Jules related somehow... . SLJ played a pretty bad ass mofo Jules in that movie, yes. I never saw the pimp factor of the Lando character, so I really don't understand where it comes from. Has to be because Lando's a black baron-administrator? I know nothing about the Colt.45 adds, but I agree that every time people talk about either BDW or SLJ, the words "pimp" and "bad ass mofo" aren't far away. That's disturbing. It's practically as if black men have no other talents than that. I don't want to go as far as to say that it's racist cause I know people joke around, but it's at least a little narrow minded, and, the joke certainly has worn off by now. It's just not funny anymore. If it ever was in the first place.
