Is there supposed to be an email out that says - more pics up of the figure prior to a pre-order ? cause I never receive them ? Ill go chasing if there are ?

I don't agree that Billy Dee being associated with Colt 45 is a sign of racism... he did a series of (by todays standards) really funny commercials and now that is something he has become known for. He was a very well respected actor before Star Wars, but for whatever reason kinda dropped off. So for many the lasting memory of Billy Dee is Lando and smooth Malt Liquor :lol

But, anyone who doesn't buy this figure is clearly a racist... looking at you Irish!

Hopefully Sideshow answers either my question or Galactiboy's question about future use of the PRO. :date

Only trouble is, wasn't your question regarding extending the limbs for varying heights, which I think is what the Buck does, same torso different limbs, but really, the pro could stand every proportion sizing up to about 110-125% of what it is, slightly wider shoulders, beefier torso, taller overall. As it is now, it's a good short body for say a Luke, but it seems a bit small for an average male. Either that or shrink the heads down, that's really the issue, head size to body build. Mechanically, it's fine and it seems like the production issue as far as joint tightness is being worked out, but the overall build of the body seems kinda scrawny. Like I've said before, the shoulders are a hair too small, and the TrueType's are a bit to wide and flat, the best base body for build you could have has shoulders somewhere between the TrueType and the Pro.

No my question was asking them if they had plans to release a short body and a regular body since the standard PRO is too short.

Standards have changed a lot over the years. Back then, it was basically normal for malt liquor ads to be directly marketed to blacks and blaxploitation films were abundant. That stuff doesn't fly today.

Personally, I think the constant Colt .45 jokes are a form of subtle racism, but I also think that subtle racism is "normal" in most people so I'm not calling anyone out for it.

I enjoy a good laugh every now and then at South Park or similar humor and what not, but usually its because I'm laughing at the knowledge that its impossible to transcend and I'm laughing in cynisism at the general human condition that we can;t get past our differences.

My guess is the Pro is a 1 size fits all, since Belloq and Indy seem to share the same size issue, and Piett looks to in the new Troops image. If they were doing varying sizes, sure at least Indy would have been on a bigger one I would think.

I guess it'll be like the TrueType, some figures will look good because their costumes and such will hide the issues, others will make the issues obvious.

I don't get why anyone would feel the Colt 45 thing is racist, maybe because I know nothing about it other than the pictures around here, but to me it's just funny because someone you come to know in a fairly serious role like Lando played a suave booze peddler back in the day, which is funny, white, black whatever, it's the concept that's funny, not the race. That's why they even have stupid shows on TBS and crap showing big celebrities in old starting gigs, it's just funny some of the stuff these people start out with before their big break.

The Colt45 commercials were post SW. :lecture

I think its funny because its such an idea that has gone out of style. Sort of like laughing at your parents old pictures because the funny hair style and clothes. Its more a mocking of a culture than a race.

*see Coming To America as I feel the whole movie pokes fun at this same black sub-culture.

There's more than 1 reason people find it funny. Some might take the laugh regardless of peddling malt liquor or aftershave, but there are A LOT of people who remember that malt liquor advertisements were primarily aimed to get the blacks to buy malt liquor due to its high alcohol content and low price. BDW got caught up in that before marketing execs and most people had the discretion they do now.

Has anyone seen the Spike Lee movie Bamboozled its very heavy handed, but it makes interesting commentary.

Ah, we've eventually moved on to racism discussion in a SW thread. Unreal!:rotfl

Don't make fun of Peyton Mannings commercials, don't wanna be racist against white hillbillies.

I find racism and the history of race relations an interesting topic. Not trying to preach in any way, but I think its interesting to look at.
