There are actually several promo stills from ESB where Lando is shown wielding the Rebel blaster...which is probably why Kenner gave the original 3 3/4" figure one. I'm actually glad they included it. Did he actually hold one of the security guard pistols? Will have to check the DVD.

Just double checked the movie and lando never has a weapon other then the two blasters he takes off the stormtroopers when he frees leia and chewie. He does however have an image from a decipher card showing him in bespin atire with his officers blaster from ROTJ.

Very true. At the least the exclusive will be more likely to hold its original value while the non-exclusive sells for less on the secondary market. If given the choice to purchase the exclusive vs. the non directly from SS, why would someone choose the non for the same price? A "free" exclusive accessory, no matter what it is is still an added bonus.

One could say that part of the thing that hurts the exclusive on the secondary market is the large number of non-exclusives available by comparison. The way to keep values higher would be to keep the non-exclusive at no more than twice the number of the exclusive, maybe even the same number. However, that would mean fewer people would be able to own the figure which is a bit against Sideshow's philosophy. No matter what the more that exist, the more likely prices will decrease on the secondary market (with exceptions).

Didn't they say during Spook that they need to sell at least 3k of any given figure to break even? So if that's the case we can at least always expect there to be some combo of 3k, like 750 exclusives and 2200 regulars with 50 or so saved for returns, contests, etc.

As for the Ex, I would've done a Lando in Skiff Guard disguise and included the gigolo Bespin outfit as the Ex (increasing it to 1k). That way you kill two birds with one stone by getting both of the major Landos out of the way (General Calrissian saved for the ROTJ Anniversary) and potentially sell both the Ex and the Reg for the hardcore Lando lovers who wants a dual display.

SSC doesn't care about the secondary market. They want to sell as many figures as possible to the primary market.

I don't think SSC said anything about a breakeven on a production run - although that 3000 number sounds like something I might have said.

just got on the net after a long day at work...didnt get the email but checked on the SSC site...my order was placed in at 10:01:40....OR 5:01:40am Australian time ;) ;)

Just got back from an oversea trip and am happy to see Lando finally being announced. Has anyone mentioned? Is his cape removable?

Like so many here that made a 750 exclusive sell out in just under 4 minutes, there will always be appeal for the exclusive, regardless of how random it is. It's the idea that it's 'limited'. That sticker. The extra mold in the tray. The hope that one day it will be worth a small fortune. Whatever the reason.

If a collector (NOT someone who just wants a cheap figure to fill out his line) wants to buy a Sideshow Star Wars figure down the road they'll always look for the exclusive version first...and then price will decide.

Interesting look on things. For me, the exclusivity of it really doesn't play into it for me. I could care less that it's more limited or anything, there's a momentary satisfaction when I get one when it's hard to, but otherwise, all it really matters to me is that the Ex. version is the most encompassing version, it has the most accessories and that's what matters most to me, that I have the most inclusive version of a figure. That's why I really wanted Inclusive Maul, it was the only way to have everything he ever used and came with.

I like how Sideshow's handling the 2 jointed necks, Medicom and Hot Toys show a bit too much neck on the head piece and it can look weird, Sideshow's doing a good job of only including neck where they absolutely must.

Trevor Grove Lando Unpainted Sculpt Pics...

Reposting... How great is this, Guys?

It really is important to see Trevor's unpainted work to get a better idea of how great this is IMO. Rock on Trev. :rock

It also helps that his sculpt shots have lighting that allows you to see the forms in the face properly.

I say just recycle this for General Calrissian and Skiff Lando, i don't think his hair changed enough to worry about a new sculpt.
