OK, now to get back on topic, I think I am warming up to the piece a little more.

I have come to realize that we (or at least I) have tended to associate the character with the SSW sculpts more than from the actual movie. Over at S&F someone posted some screen grabs of the Nazgul from the Weathertop scene.

The bust comparison shot I posted earlier, for reference:

And the Witch-king:

It seems pretty obvious from these shots that the new bust is a dead ringer (all puns completely intended) for the character in the first shot, but not for the Witch-king. However, it also seems to me that the film version of the Witch-king is actually somewhere in-between the look of the SSW bust and the new LSB, at least in style.

In fact, I might even go so far as to say, based on these shots, that the new bust is actually slightly closer to the film version of the Witch-king than the SSW version, even though the SSW version looks 'cooler'.

Very nice reference shots! I tend to agree, the SS version is more movie accurate. I've always liked the Weta version but it's always seemed a bit too slick looking to me.
