Hey, what can I say...I love the LOTR LSB line and think this will be a terrific addition. I think one thing pretty well everyone who collects this line will agree with is that the photo's of these busts never do them justice. The actual busts look much better in person.

No offense, bro. I have the Cave Troll and the Morgul Lord LS bust myself, and I'm very happy with them. I'll just let this one pass, is all. For the above mentioned reasons. If you're happy with it, I'm glad for you. It's just not for me, that's all

Absolutely, there's no right or wrong here, merely difference's of opinion. This world would be a pretty boring place if we all agreed about everything.

Nothing compares to the WETA stuff, this isn't even close. The only new LOTR stuff I like is from GG. Theres no comparison, if you like LOTR the Weta line is it. Hopefully it comes back with the Hobbit.

I think the only thing I would change is to make the crown spikes taller. I remember seeing the movie the first time and being overwhelmed at how tall the crown was. Maybe that is what is making the face look "puffy".

The SS WETA bust definately has a face with a longer more gaunt appearance, this bust has a wider face structure.

I don't completely agree with you there. Some of the stuff that SS has put out there since they started making LotR stuff themselves is pretty good. As I mentioned before, for instance the Cave Troll LS bust is an amazing piece of art. So is the Lurtz PF. If you compare the Cave Troll bust of SSW with the LS bust (ok maybe not too much of a fair comparison, but still!), the LS version is like 1,000 times better!!

Without a doubt SS/Weta produced some really great statues and busts, but they also produced alot of average to down right horrific looking pieces. And you're right the SS/Weta CT, and GTG busts don't even come close to SS's LSB's.

It seem's like the value of the SS/Weta busts takes a bit of a beating whenever SS produces one featuring the same character...so there may be a silver lining in this for you either way.

Add to that how much the price on that bust has dropped before this announcement, when I finally sold mine I got over $300 for it; now they are easily obtained for $150.

The statue isn't going anywhere though.

I don't want to fan the flames of controversy, but I thought it would be worth posting a direct comparison of the face sculpt of this bust with the sculpt of the SSW bust.

They both have their elements of looking cartoonish but its accentuated on the LSB IMO.

Well they both have the long chin. But I admit the SS/Weta sculpt is superior in my eyes....but I'm still getting the LS bust anyway!
