It doesn't really bother me, I think it would look cool in the film if true, otherwise I'd just like to leave the spines large, the pic above looks pretty nice with the spines, I'm not sure if there's any shots from the trailers that show his spines, the only thing we've seen are poster shots, who knows if those are accurate, seems like every picture we see of him he looks different.

The shot in MaulFan's sig we've seen in the trailer plenty of times and they are much smaller.

And from a literal sense, it's just stupid to have that. Godzilla shouldn't have to rely on an illusion to scare off enemies.

Sweet jesus.

Definately my favorite movie shot so far.

Who you callin' fat?

GMK_G2.JPG

Everybody always brings up GMK Godzilla, but to me, this new Godzilla has a bigger midsection, smaller spines (in most images we've actually seen from the trailers), and a smaller head. Maybe fat isn't the right word since it seems everybody wants to say he looks muscular, but he looks so disproportional. Aside from obviously being a suit, GMK had an awesome design (besides the unnatural hunch and the lazy-looking potbelly).

Just wasn't sure if this was some ultra detailed CG concept art lol but damn I wish they had a bigger pic of it

In all seriousness, as I look at Jye's avatar, I really hope they treat Godzilla in some ways like how the Avengers treated the Hulk. They built up the anticipation and suspense, they showed how deadly and frightening he can be when he's your enemy, but they figure out how to unleash him, but he steals the show by doing things you don't exactly expect. The Hulk Tyson'ed that giant flying alien, punched Thor, thrashed Loki and yet emerged aware and loyal enough to save Iron Man. I get the impression that Godzilla will be treated in that way, which is the second best thing to him actually starring in a film where it's all about him. That's why I also have a soft spot for GMK. As a fan, I was always used to Godzilla being hit with everything, reacting to every action, kind of just taking punishment, etc. So in GMK Godzilla when he was so elusive for his size, so merciless in killing people or attacking his opponents, And even calculating when he predicted or sensed Mothra sneaking up on him twice or that the humans had shot those torpedoes at him, it was such a treat. I wish the rest of the script and action held up the just how well they portrayed Godzilla himself (except for samurai-ing himself at the end).

If this was a large pic in HD I'd be all over this....even though this makes me feel like he's fat again.

Hopefully an HD copy surface soon, LA Times recently had a small resolution version of an image and HD eventually followed.

The shot in MaulFan's sig we've seen in the trailer plenty of times and they are much smaller.

It's also a shot on an angle, the most prominent spines you see there are the outer row, not the center row.

Unless that's some leaked image from a high budget Godzilla videogame cut scene, but I think its from the movie. :lol

It's from the NY Times.

So is this.

That clip of Godzilla coming out of the ocean looked incredible! Only 6 more days until we can see him in full action! I'm debating whether or not to stop visiting this thread until then. But every day something interesting is posted in here which makes it hard for me to stay away! :panic:

Some Godzilla concept art has been relased. i saw it on Tumbr.

Those are photos taken from the art of destruction book, now I'm even more excited to get that next week. I have to say, I was worried there'd be a design in there that I'd wish had been the movie design instead of what we're getting, but looking at all of them, there's not one that even comes close to appealing to me as much as the final design, so I'm very happy. One looks like a twist on the '84 and '89 Godzillas mixed together but overall there's just something I don't care for about it, I'm sure some of the fans who really like the '89 will be dissappointed to see they could have had an awsome CGI render of that design.

Some of them are just down right awful.

Back to official images, WOW.

Also, regarding this picture...

Someone who saw the film on reddit said it's from the very end, Godzilla seems dead and rises to return to the ocean, which goes along with the last track of the score.

A guy I work with won the Ultimate Fan contest and is flying out today to see the movie tomorrow in London, so I'll be probing him for information when he gets back. I'm very jealous but I never even tried to enter because I couldn't travel that far with the wife or leave her.

Matt Frank posted some pics on his Facebook and yeah the other designs were pretty out there. They seemed to have one that looked like it was similar to '54 but I couldn't get a good look at the details. The Hesei one is of course a classic look but I still am happy they have a new design. It's better for the marketing. Besides, if there is ever a previous-used Godzilla design I'd want them to do "correctly" with a proper rebuild it's GMK.

As for that large beautiful picture, holy ****. Those teeth are growing on me. I'm leaving how he looks when he roars towards the heavens. I hope x-Plus does a vinyl of him roaring up like that like how they did with Godzilla 2003.
