Gareth said he wanted to do Destroy All Monsters next. I hope he does it.

i think he should do a sequel with MechaG or Ghidorah then if that's successful then a BIG ONE like Destroy All Monsters. Destroy All Monsters is the grand-daddy, if they make that nexrt we will be spoiled and be let down by the following G movie if made.

I think I will sell my 2 Batmobiles and purchase SS Godzilla Maquette and a few Monster Arts.

add the X-Plus Gigantic Series 1995 Burning-Meltdown Godzilla to that list.

The 1995 is the Godzilla equivalent of the Friday the 13th Part 7 Jason.

Oh hell yeah! Oh hell yeah! Oh hell yeah!

It was projected at 73 million.

Now look:

Friday AM Update: Godzilla earned a gigantic $9.3 million from late Thursday shows. For the weekend, it could wind up over $100 million... > FULL STORY

Thursday Update: Playing at around 3,400 locations, Godzilla earned a phenomenal $9.3 million from late Thursday shows. That's one of the best late-night openings ever for a non-sequel.

Compared to recent releases, Godzilla actually performed better than The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ($8.7 million), and was only a bit behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($10.2 million). It also did over twice as much business as World War Z ($3.6 million), which had the advantage of opening when school was out.

This debut guarantees at least $70 million for Godzilla. If it plays like Spider-Man 2, it will have the biggest opening of the year with around $98 million. It could go even higher, though: using Thor: The Dark World or 300: Rise of An Empire as comparable titles puts the movie above $110 million for the weekend.

Of course, those are all sequels, which should theoretically be more front-loaded. At this point, the sky is the limit for Godzilla.

If it doesn't break $100 million this weekend, then something's wrong. I went to a 1:00pm IMAX showing today and that huge theatre was over half full for a matinee on a Friday and the kids are still in school and its a work day too. The past two times I've been to this same theatre for the same IMAX matinee's for Cap 2 and ASM 2, that theatre had less than 30 people in it both times. Godzilla is going to be rolling in dough and that will greenlight the sequel almost immediately.

Man oh man, must be that time of the month.

She's watching atomic breath hits from GMK and is busting my balls why G2014 atomic breath didn't damage the surroundings, she's calling it wimpy breath.

Where's that bottle of midol.

If Muto survived on nuclear, why did atomic breath kil it?

Btw, you were right, I had missed the big pour out of blood from Muto's neck the first time around.

Loved it even more the 2nd time around. Jye did you see

The Mothra tag on the terrarium with what looked like a little cocoon in the old house in Japan

Yup yup, sure did.

I believe he had a monster poster up as well.

This movie was glorious on Imax, one of the best ever for the format.

Didn't get to take my son tonight due to Karate class running late, tomorrow will be his turn, then a Godzilla shirt. :yess:

Movie was alright. I liked it better than PR but this did need more Smaug in it.
