This film was an utter disappointment. I went in expecting to see godzilla fight another monster while at the same time the military tries to stop them. A basic plot for a godzilla movie. We only get to see godzilla clearly fight the monsters (not counting news footage) for less than 2 minutes every time. I timed it with my stopwatch. Every time when they would build up the suspense of these three monsters getting ready to fight eachoter, they cut away to something else. It really got under my skin just how many times they did the same trick over and over again. I'd expected it to payoff in the end but it never felt like it did.

Definite ouch. Wow. lol

But Godzilla was no weakling. He was stomping both monsters one-on-one. A majority of the fight he is literally being tag-teamed. He showed incredible strength and warrior-like nobility. If anything, he's certainly one of the strongest Godzilla's out there. He surely would not deal with a Mothra larva webbing him up or Ghidorah shooting electric **** at his junk.

He actually stomped on the head of the male and was about to nuke him when the other sucker jumped him. :lol

so take her to transformers to make up for this :lol

:lol

Why on earth would you marry this person.

she's got J-LO's ass. :lol

So was this better or worse than Man of Steel (in terms of delivering the goods, giving us what we want to see, seeing Godzilla do Godzilla things).

im comparing two films because they are two characters where the creative palette is exetensive, pretty much limitless.

Much better than Man Afraid of Tornados.

I run away from them. If it's a bumblebee, I'll hit it with a rake, but it usually crawls out from under the rake and I go back to running away.

:lol

Yeah take the examples scales of a million year old super beast who fed on radiation and whom multiple nuclear bombs couldnt really kill.

Those bullets are impervious to him. A full cannon of a tank blasting into him at point blank range didnt make him flinch! The only time he flinched was when some tomahawks fell near his face. All he did was then swat whatever was near him on that bridge and he ended up pulling half of it apart. Im sure you saw how an anti aircraft gun shot one of his back fins from like 5 feet away and it didnt even shake that damn fin!!

And ever since after that initial freak confrontation on the bridge the military gave him a wide berth. He was pretty much unperturbed and undisturbed the whole way to fight the MUTOs

"Let them fight"

i knew it. reasons :wink1:

:exactly:

Jye you should buy her the costume! (you know, for sexy times)

People ***** because people like to *****.

Anyway, not sure if this was posted in here yet. From the Maquette thread:

If I even remotely like this film I will own this :) :) :)

It is very much like the Empire cover (non special edition) he is just looing the other way.

Just go see it :lol

F'ing A maulfan.... I can't get over how you want to know everything about the film... I know you have to wait for the Blu ray... But just wait... You keep asking about every little thing... LOL!!!!

I know you have a baby on the way but just ask one of your folks to come down after the baby is born and home and go see the film yourself... I am sure your wife won't mind. :)

I'm only confirming things I've already seen or heard :) The things I've spoiled myself with just confirm that I'll enjoy the movie. Not that I put much value in reveiwers, but the mixed reviews on the quality of Godzilla's screen time had me wondering but the couple minutes worth I've caught, every second is amazing to me, there's plenty more to look forward to, nothing's been ruined at all for me.

Just saw it. Think I hyped myself too much on it. It was a good movie, solid 7/10, but I expected it to be more. The leads aside from Cranston are ****. The MUTOs were awesome though and really stole the movie. Really loved how they were animals that existed on a plane above us. Definite forces of nature. Godzilla was cool too, but...Oddly portrayed. Not at all like the trailers lead you to believe. Everyone is also weirdly reverent of him, especially Watanabe's character. I find myself wishing he was portrayed more like the MUTOs were, and had at least one scene where he

actually fought the military and the navy. Hopefully that will come in the next movie, where without the MUTOs around he is not as nice as people think he is, until something else diverts his attention.

I dont get the argument that missiles or planes are too small for Godzilla to focus on. Have you seen a Godzilla movie ever? He always fought back against the military out of sheer aggravation at the very least. Hell even in 1998 he fought back eventually. The missiles obviously were enough to make him roar angrily and stagger a bit into the golden gate bridge. He should have took that navy out. They needed to feel his power. This Godzilla was a nice guy.

The Muto dived head first into that navy destroyer. :lol

I squinted and made believe Godzilla was fighting Mothra. :lol

Yeah the Muto was out for heads Godzilla got nuked on the head, shot in hawaii, and bombarded in the Bay and didn't go after humans once. I dont care how anybody tries to justify that, that's lame.

I agree. I have no problem with Godzilla taking out humans. I don't need him to go all GMK, but human casualties caused by Godzilla is a MUST.

MOTHRA is a beautiful character.
