I still loved it. But nostalgia was a factor. It was great to see Godzilla come so alive. And the fight scenes. That ending. Wow

Godzilla is great no matter what. It was fun to see him go at it. I just would have liked a little more panic in the streets but civilians and the Military. Godzilla can be "good" but make him good by default.

In all honesty it's not like the MUTOs were Bad... They were not actually doing anything wrong.. If you get right down to it Godzilla was bad because, along with Kick Ass, he helped destroy a happy family. :)

I think I could have handled a good Godzilla if the Military and the people were more scared of him and viewed him as a threat. Even though he may not want anything to do with us. Instead you have Ken Watanabe making sure he tells everyone that Godzilla is a "savior". I really could have done without his character.

Wow.... Sucked huh?? Go back to your Hobbit Hole ;)

Like I said to Jye... Good would have been fine had they not beaten us over the head with it..

But I really believe that this was made for kids... Which is fine... I just wish they would have advertised it that way.

Because the tone and the film they did advertise looked killer and not at all like it would have "sucked"

One thing that bugged me was indeed the exposition dialogue between the top military people and the 2 top scientists.

Nukes today are more powerful.

No **** sherlock. :lol

Not even Toho ever had Godzilla vomit his atomic breath down another Kaiju's throat.

All complaints now deemed invalid, bow to G2014. :lol

Wait, not true!

G2000, Orga!

There's a flash storm here but I had to drag my girlfriend to watch it even if we drowned.

I'd give the movie a 7.5/10 and that's with me still not being completely sure how I feel about the film. I have to give Gareth Edward credit for what he was trying to do and it worked in some aspects.

Dislikes:
- Dull human story with dull characters. I'm fine with it being military focused but when you have the main character being a lifeless zombie, it makes you wish he wasn't in the picture at all.

- Aaron Taylor: He was incredibly boring to watch on screen. He has the same face throughout the entire film and acts like he's in autopilot mode. It gave the sense of the movie being dragged on, which gave the lack of screen time for Godzilla even more prominent.

- Godzilla: I don't blame the direction that Gareth went with how much screen time the King of Monster got. It would have worked perfectly IF the human side of the story wasn't so dull. Having gone into the theater knowing the scenes were being cut, it was still frustrating knowing how awesome it would have been if they had just thrown us a minute or two of them duking it out a bit but I understand that they wanted the finale to be this huge brawl.

- Bryan: EXTREMELY disappointed that he died so soon. I knew he was going to die at some point but I did not expect it to happen so suddenly. It sucked and I really wish they had let Aaron's character die instead while having Bryan carry out the rest of the film. Great acting and his character had purpose. He died without any form of redemption which made me dislike Ford even more since his father or mother was never mentioned again. Had Ford died instead, it would have gave Bryan's character yet another reason to go along with the military to put a stop to the monsters.

Likes:
- Bryan Cranston

- Finale: Godzilla beating the **** out of the Muto's was so satisfying to see. I couldn't help but have a huge grin on my face when his atomic breath came around. Backed by the wonderful CGI, it was pure awesome. However as mentioned before, the finale did leave me wanting to see the fight between them in the daylight.

- Muto's: They were given a lot of attention which I liked. They weren't just random monsters wrecking buildings left and right. It was nice for them to get some character.

Overall it was a great film but one or two aspects of it dragged it a bit down. Had Bryan been the main focus, I think it would have made the movie significantly more of a joy to watch. I hope they do a sequel and this movie, despite it flaws, left me wanting more.

So they killed Walter White early. That sucks.

Trailers made it seem like he was a main character.

I wonder how it would've played out had ATJ died protecting his father's legacy.

It made sense that he went on missions as a continuation of his father's work, especially after doubting him for 15 yrs.

The 2 monarch scientist should've been squashed. :lol

He was. :lol

Oops. :lol
Which made his death all the more disappointing. The first 30 minutes of the film is fantastic with him being the main focus of the film. You pity him when everyone thinks he's just some crazy dude when he in fact is right. Then right when he figures out he was right all along, a tombstone is thrown on top of him.

Aaron should have died. Bryan weeps over the lost of his son and wife, seeks revenge against the monsters. Boom. Solved.

I'm just not a fan of Godzilla being a bad guy. I much prefer his rouges gallery being the bad guy and him fighting them as we saw in this film.
While I agree with this, I feel like he was portrayed a bit "odd". Can't quite put my finger on it but something seemed off with the way he was portrayed throughout the film. However when it got to the final brawl, I didn't care about anything else at all. :lol

It didn't seem odd to me but i admit I'm a passive Godzilla fan. So maybe if i was harder into it I'd feel the same.

There just needed to be some more screaming and running and less explaining that he was here to Balance nature.
