Even Edwards' own quote does not line up with what's in the movie, so if he thinks that's what's in the movie then I guess his vision is off.

ATJ swaggering around at 2:28 is hilarious. Edwards seems so nervous and out of his element, then there's Johnson who acts as though he's giving people a tour of his mansion. :lol

GE contradicts himself in that interview.

First he says that Godzilla is not a personification of evil, (the movie we got) but then says he's coming to punish humanity.

Godzilla didn't do one act of punishment against humanity in the movie, he actually saved us bad humans by taking the Muto's out for us.

Had he wanted to punish us, he could've just left the Muto's alone, they weren't bothering him.

GE was certainly conflicted.

Im sorry but thats pretty stupid.

he doesnt even know what movie he made :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

no, i know exactly what it means. those aspects you mentioned: "a very serious, dark and apocalyptic film" are pretty much the film as advertised. it was very serious, it was dark, both literally and figuratively, and the mass destruction, tsunamis, etc did give it a somewhat apocalyptic feel. what WASN'T as advertised is that people were expecting a slam-bang non-stop roller-coaster of action, which is where my michael bay reference came in. and audiences did not receive that.

:exactly: all the complaints I've heard are geared with that mindset.

But they clearly advertized Godzilla as the bringer of death and fudge brownies.

Hell, they even deliberatly manipulated trailer scenes to make it seem that way.

Ask MaulFan, he won't lie.

I'm suing those *******s for false advertising.

I actually didn't feel it that way at all, even less so after they introduced the MUTO trailer.

Damn Krec, that's rough. :lol

Was something wrong with the projection of the movie, there were zero lighting issues on all 5 of my viewings, and i'm legally blind. :lol

You do know that horrible movie equates to Battlefield: Earth, right. :lol

i dont know how he beat the first monster it was so dark and were they ganging up on godzilla i couldnt tell.

must've been your theatre man, everything looked clear to me too. Vicious tail whip to death. It was awesome when GZ lit up like a Christmas tree

Damn! Let me rephrase "all the complaints" to "most complaints" then :lol

:lol

He tail whipped him into a high rise, which impaled the Muto with the debris.

Then the entire building came down on Godzilla.

MF hasn't even seen the movie and he knows this part. :lol

Go request a refund. :lol

I agree with a lot of what Jaws said.

Some of the trailers did make it seem like it was going to be an apocalyptic film with Godzilla destroying humanity, but it actually didn't bother me at all that it didn't turn out that way. I love the heroic Godzilla movies from when I was a kid, so seeing him play the hero in this new movie actually had me pretty excited. Godzilla wasn't the problem with this movie for me. He looked cool, he acted like Godzilla for the most part although he was a little bit Gamera-ish, and he had the atomic breathe.

I was disappointed with the human drama. I was really invested with Cranston wanting to find the truth about what was happening and what caused his wife's death, and when he was taken away so abruptly, I didn't feel like his full story was told. In my opinion, he had a lot more to contribute to the story and it would've been nice to see him regain his family in his son, daughter-in-law, and grandson through facing the monsters that destroyed the life he knew. I know that some thought all the performances were great, but I really thought bomb disposal guy was better when he had Cranston to work with. I like Ken Watanabe, but I felt like he just stood around looking confused and giving Godzilla background info throughout the film, and I think they could've done more with him too. I don't know. It's a competent movie and it's certainly not horrible. I just wish it was a little better.

People complain about everything, but the important part is that Cranston would still be alive to make the movie better.

What I found extremely funny was that Wantanabe had the exact same expression of dismay throughout the ENTIRE movie :rotfl

This is a very unique movie.

Never have I loved a movie like I do this one where I was let down by the trailers, frustrated by the editing, unhappy how the lead was handled, not engaged with the other primary characters and rolled my eyes at the exposition from the military and Dr.

Yet here I am, I love this movie.

****ing weird if you ask me. :lol

yea, I wasn't happy about Cranston dying either, that's the only thing that bothered me cause I think keeping him around for this film and maybe future films could've had so much potential to put together a more interesting human story, but I did like that short moment when his son and GZ had a little moment when they eyed each other.

that's cause GZ just looked so mean and bad ***. I don't recall such a mean looking sob on screen since maybe King Kong. I did think for a sec GZ was killed and was like F, I guess there will be no sequels.
