Re: Lego Marvel

I finally found the Cap set for my wife. It was hidden behind a bunch of Cars merchandise, luckily I was buying Easter basket filler for my son or else I would have missed it. My local Targets and Wal-Marts have been slim on all things Marvel, I haven't seen Marvel Legends in forever and legos both Marvel and DC are nothing but empty shelves.

Re: Lego Marvel

Managed to get the Cap, Wolverine, and Hulk sets this weekend.

The Cap set is crap like most of the cheapie sets, but its not bad to get Cap and 2 army builders.

The Wolverine set is awesome. The way they did Wolverine's claws isn't the best they could have come up with, but it works. Little disapointed they didn't have a masked head for Wolverine though. The unmasked head is great though, but feels like they only went that route because they had the mold for the hair already. Magneto and Deapool are sweet. I just wish Magneto had a blue bubble or something to float in besides that little disc. And the copter is great for the price. Probably the best bang for you buck set.

The Hulk set is nice. I wish Hulk hat a little more articulation (only shoulders and hands). Head movement at the least would have been nice. But he is still awesome. I love that he can hold other figures upsidedown by the legs :lol Loki is nice, but I swear his head is the same as Lex Luthor. As a result, he has no alternate expression which is weak since the helm covers the back of his head. Thor's hair is just too light IMO. I ordred a tan colored hair piece to fix this, but its more comic colored than what Hemsworth has. Hawkeye's hair is all wrong. Not even close to the same style. They really needed to create a new mold for his hair IMO. His hair is combed forward and up in the front in the film, not slicked back like they gave him.

Not sure what is up with the set's title though. It would have been better to call it Loki's Helicarrier Escape instead of Hulk, since he's not locked up in the slightest or have any features indicating as such. Loki's the one behind the glass!

And the two chairs at the top of this set make me feel we missed out on getting some SHIELD agents or Fury thrown in this set. I don't think Thor would sit at a computer, Hulk can't, Loki's locked up, and Hawkeye has a jet to set it so someone is missing.

I had a heck of a time finding these so I just went ahead and ordered the last 2 sets (until they come up with that Spidey set, hopefully in time for the May Hulk promo) and am unpatiently awaiting their arrival.

Re: Lego Marvel

Found a quinjet set over the weekend, which finished off the last of the Avengers I was missing.

Re: Lego Marvel

:lol Good luck with that. I think most people buy these for the figures in the first place.

Yeah I bought them and realized I have no room for these larger sets....so if I can sell the sets, then good, if not, they'll just be in a box somewhere.

These minifigs are some of the best though!

Re: Lego Marvel

I have Loki, Hawkeye, and Magneto for $7 each plus shipping if anyone is interested.

Re: Lego Marvel

I'm very interested to see the next offerings of these. I'm wondering what will be the next larger comic offering.

Re: Lego Marvel

Just put those 2 sets on hold at my local lego store. Are they worth getting? Recommend any other sets?

only two i got thus far, but i love them, the X-Men one is just full of win, not just the figures but the vehicle is brilliant.

the Cap set is only really good for the bike and cap, the rest is pretty meh

I want the mini figures from the X-Men set and will give the helicopter to my son.

Same as the Captain America set, I just want Cap and his bike and give the rest to my son.

The lego store said the X-Men set is moving of shelves the fastest.

Hopefully that means more to come :yess:

i'd love a Blackbird or Danger Room

The X-men set is probably the best bang for your buck of all of the Marvel sets so far. Plus its the only actual comic based set. The rest are Avengers movie ones. The Cap set is really only worth getting for Cap and some "Alien Foot Soldiers" as they are called by Lego. Worthless otherwise IMO. But at least its fairly cheap. For the $7 difference between that set and the Wolverine set, it does fill overpriced IMO. I'd rather pay $7 more anytime and get a decent set rather than those worthless cheapie sets.

Yeah, I figured the X-men set would do best. Its got Wolverine and Deapool and is the only comic set so far. So if you don't care about the marvel films, its really the only set for you right now. So glad I got mine from TRU.com They were actually gone at my TRU went I went earlier in the day, but thought I'd give the Pick-up at store option a shot and it worked!

I was surprised to see only the Hulk set was left there yesterday. I thought the Hulk would have been the second best seller of the bunch, but I guess not. :dunno

Yeah with 3 major characters in the X-Men set it's a must and even better with the price tag.

I want just the mini figures of the Avengers. Hope they sell just the mini figs in the future like the Pirates of the Caribbean.

Re: Lego Marvel

I dislike the Hellicarrier set, out of all of them it looks the least worthwhile, all the figures are avaiable in other sets except Hulk and the set itself looks very meh to me.

I'm gonna get the Quinjet and maybe the Truck, but i think the x-set will win out as my favourite as all f the figs are exclusive and it's comic rather than film.

I'd love a Comic Green or Hob-Goblin and Glider

Re: Lego Marvel

I had no idea these were out already!! I just used up my Lego store VIP rewards from when I used to collect all the Star Wars sets and ordered the captain america, x-men, hulk and the quinjet set for free plus shipping and tax!
Can't wait to get these!

If they do, it would probably just be the figures from the cheapie sets or the guy from every set (Jack) like the PotCs were. So I'd expect to see the Alien Foot Soldiers, Cap, and Loki if they do that :lol

I can see that. The problem with the Hulk set is it could have been a $35 set really. Just get rid of that unncessary Hawkeye jet (or have had that a $15 set seperately) and its instantly cheaper. I hate it when Lego adds things like that just because they want to get a higher priced set made. But it is hard to judge this set without seeing the movie yet. I might be pretty great after the fact.

And I'm sure we'll see some more Spidey stuff, but probably from that cartoon if the first set is any indication. I hope we don't get screwed out of comic sets because of that toon, or the upcoming movie. But at least we might get a cool Lizard/Killer Croc from the movie sets! :lol
