While I ultimately decided to stick to the PF line that I had already started, I can say without a doubt (after seeing the first two in person and getting previews of others) that nobody who jumps into the maquette line will be let down by the results. This line is looking great, and there is something about the classic sculpted statue approach that just suits the LOTR characters and designs.

Agreed. These maquettes possess a classic, timeless quality unlike anything I've ever seen before in any LOTR line, and I couldn't be happier with the results so far.

That's what I'm doing for the entire line.

I put extra dollars, etc. into a big glass jar two or three times a week and it really adds up.

As long as Trevor sculpts this line I will be buying. I have Aragorn on order and will definitely add Legolas to the mix.

I'm really torn because I sit here looking at my Weta pseudo-fellowship and find myself not wanting to break up the set. However the Sideshow versions all seem to be great. Although, I'm not really drooling over any of them other than Strider. I'm definitely sure I don't want or care to have two of the same character in the same format and scale. So if I do pick any of these up it will replace the existing Weta statue.

That's exactly how I feel. I don't quite understand how everyone is gushing over the Legolas Maquette, I still don't see Orlando Bloom in it.

The sauntering pose of Arwen looks a bit too comic-book to me. So does the Legolas one, come to think of it. The Strider one is the only one so far where I'd be tempted to replace my SSW Strider with it. And I'd be first in line for a Pippin Fellowship statue. And any others that Weta has not produced. Otherwise, this line doesn't offer anything that Weta hasn't already done.

And for Woodsy to keep gushing about this line and FrodoEyes makes a comment on how Woodsy has close ties to Sideshow, what's up with that?

"will be the greatest LOTR line ever produced"? Based on what criteria? For breadth, it'll take Sideshow at least TEN years to match the Weta line. I seriously doubt that will last that long.

Other than that, if there are any gaps that this line will fill, count me in. Otherwise: bo-ring.
