Re: LES WALKER - All NEW Custom Works 2009
I'm sure he'll have a few masterpieces to show off every now and again.
I'm sure he'll have a few masterpieces to show off every now and again.
Les is retiring from the business aspect, but he'll continue to make custom works and be an active collector, he loves this hobby, he just doesn't want to be involved in the business side like he'd gotten to be.
Visit his website, you'll see the sort of cool things he did before he came to become the custome figure maker for higher, that's what his retirement is about, returning to those sorts of things.
Les' retirement means a loss of having him for hire, but his work and friendship will still be around, he's not fading away.
toys are secondary... family comes first....so no worries..we all understand even tho we'll miss ya great works~!....
Thanks guys. So much. MsHurricane, thanks for the kind words there. Nice to know Glenn feels my pain. I hate that anyone should of course, but we all have stuff going on. I wish him and you well too.
Speaking of pain, twisted the crap out of my right knee, just by squeezing into a tight area beside my bed, (after a box for shipping I might add!) and then, turning while my leg was locked into place. NOT FUN! Anyway, staying off that leg as much as I can. ANY time I turn in place, it hurts. Sitting is not a problem, so painting resumes.
Shipping some next week. Some money coming in for that. Thanks all who have sent me some shipment moneys. All will benefit.
Pics and updates to come this weekend. Too much on my plate at one time, but I am working to get pics up. Thanks.
Note: Wanted to mention my avatar and it's designer/creator, Heinz Edelmann, artistic director of the wonderful animated movie, Beatles Yellow Submarine, who died this last week. I was VERY influenced by this amazing film as a kid, and the style of the Blue Meanies, esp. Chief Blue Meanie, set the tone for what I liked in villains and in art. I learned to draw hand gestures from copying this art as a kid. I will always be indebted to Mr. Edelmann and that amazingly creative movie.
