I don't know how Bale does that crap. Look at other movies like The Fighter where he literally looked like a crack-head. That has to play hell on his heart.

Bale began filming on Batman Begins only 30 days after wrapping on The Machinist. His first scenes were of Bruce returning home for Joe Chill's appeal hearing.

Contrast that with later in the film where he wakes and does push ups. That's a big change in just a few months of filming.
