It's disingenuous to even call that an "announcement" lol. They mentioned a couple times in passing they were making one, but we never even got a tease of a digital sculpt like we got at least with the last of us figures.

LIM never said they were making Aloy. They said they'd like to make one, but the hair was going to be an immense challenge and it was going to need extensive RnD. That was what, two years ago? Maybe they've done some work on it, maybe they haven't - but that long awaited female body still hasn't come out, which means Aloy definitely isn't anywhere close, at least not yet.

Yeah, I was gonna say, I think it's been up the whole time, too. A lot of LimToys product is still up for purchase. My understanding is Kit leaves the pre-orders up as long as he hasn't fully sold out his allotment, and for figures he expects will be in high demand on release he orders more stock than he received pre-orders for. It's also why he's still taking orders for things like ACG Tifa or TE Aerith after other places have closed.

If they were working on the box, production is done. I don’t think the pre-order ever actually closed for any of the upcoming Lim figures, except for John which only happened recently.

If the PO didn’t close on OSK, that might just mean that he still has yet to reach his allotment total. Meaning that whenever it is officially instock, he’ll make a post saying “few units left” or something similar.

Yeah I've been keeping my eye on the Sinful Butterfly (Quiet from MGS) 2nd run as that's been on pre-order since 1st release but I fear it will never come back hence the hesitation

As amazing as a Lim version would be, I'd almost rather see Damtoys or someone else do it, since Lim has so much on their plate already. It would be 2030 before they were caught up.

I just realised we’re already 2yrs and 9 months in… damn. I still remember a few yrs ago when everyone was going crazy because Gamora was a year late. Nowadays waiting 2+ years is becoming a lot more common. Turnaround for third party figures is a lot faster than HT still, thankfully. Well.. aside from Limptoys.

Nate went up for preorder February 14th of 2023 so we’re not that far in yet. We were talking about it in this thread with R_R_X for a while when it was in the RnD stages so I guess it feels longer than it has been.

I admire that Lim doesn’t care about pressure to release figures so they can be perfect on release, but at the same time, they do need to start getting these things out faster. I know that’s been their goal for a while so I do hope it’s going to be attainable very soon.

Who knows what the world is going to look like in 2 years time. Are tariffs coming? War? Are these things still going to be affordable? Is it going to be a nightmare trying to get them into North America? Hard to say, but I could see preordering slowing down drastically if there’s world uncertainty, people won’t want to get burned. I don’t want see a company like LIM go under. I’m kind of starting to see the end of the road in this hobby but LIM is a company I’d keep supporting and hope to see so much more from, so I hope they’ll release things quicker to be stable and earn the trust of the community.
