Dre is way too soft in my opinion.

Yes, 'The Chronic' was a great album, but I can't compare it to the other stuff I listed. It's more of a party album than anything.

But still a classic. That and Doggystyle was propably the last great "dumb" albums before Wu-Tang came and brought knowledge and intelligence back into rap.
 
Ok, I'm old (can you tell I was a teen in the 70's?)... so sue me! And I cheated as well so there!!! :D

Anyway, here are my top 5 favorite albums of all time... (subject to change on a moment's notice!)

2a) The Beatles - Rubber Soul
2b) The Beatles - The Beatles (White Album)
3a) Billy Joel - 42nd Street
3b) Billy Joel - Turnstiles
4) Paul McCartney & Wings - Band on the Run
5) Andrew Lloyd Webber & Tim Rice - Jesus Christ Superstar Original Cast Album
 
1) The Beatles - LOVE
2) Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Cholie and the Infinite Sadness
3) Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
4) The Beach Boys Present SMiLE
5) IN Utero - Nirvana

My list changes everyday. Those are my current favorites.
 
This is REALLY hard to pick just 5...but here goes:
The Insider soundtrack (Lisa Gerrard and Pieter Bourke)
Tool - Undertow
NIN - The Fragile
A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms
Oasis - (What's the story) Morning Glory?

There are so many more I love.....but I would have to say these are the ones I have on constant rotation in my stereo...I didn't even include Coldplay, Radiohead, Tears for Fears (I love them), The Bravery, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden....too many great albums to choose from!!! :monkey2

"Grace" will always be in my top 5. The Beatles, Bowie, U2 and The Who are my favorite artist (there are so many more) and my favorite albums by them changes from time to time.

Great choices, Tom. I love Amiee Mann. And I'll listen to anything by Johnny Cash. "At San Quentin" is one of my all-time favorite live albums.
