Professor X *************?

Same. If I had to pick an X-movie after X2 to re-watch right now it would probably be The Wolverine.

I thought TW was better than XMO, obviously. I just found it a little flat. I think it had a lot of potential, even given it didn't really follow the Frank Miller plot.

Apoc sucked.

Magneto has been overused.

Agreed. I'm so, so tired of Magneto going through the same motions in every film. This series is nearly 20 years old (holy ****) and it's long been time to put someone else in there, or at least actually do something different with him.

I like a lot of stuff about TW but not a fan of how cartoony, for lack of a better word, it gets in the third act.

The only thing I didn't like about it was how easy general thugs were able to toss Wolverine around. With his bones coated in metal, he's gotta be at least 400lbs.

Stryker, Mystique, Old and Young Mags smoke all of them!
Old Mag was ok. Young Mag was great but only in FC and he wasn't a villain there. Everyone else were as generic as it gets so sayin' that they were better than Marvel/Netflix villains is like comparin' "I Know What You Did Last Summer" to the first two seasons of Dexter.

FOX (the bad in bold)

X1/Magneto = Good
X2/Stryker = Great
X3/Magneto = Good
X3/Jean Grey = Good
Origins/Creed = Great
Origins/Stryker = Poor
First Class/Shaw = Great
The Wolverine/Yashida = Good
The Wolverine/Viper = Good
DOFP/Sentinels = Great
DOFP/Magneto = Great
Deadpool/Ajax = Good
X-Men: Apocalypse/Apocalypse = Good
X-Men: Apocalypse/Horsemen = Poor

MCU (the bad in bold)

IM1/Stane = Poor
TIH/Abomination = Good
IM2/Whiplash = Poor
IM2/Hammer = Good
Thor/Loki = Good
Cap: TFA/Red Skull = Poor
The Avengers/Loki = Great
IM3/Killian = Poor
Thor: TDW/Malekith = Poor
Cap: TWS/HYDRA = Good
Cap: TWS/Bucky = Great
GOTG/Ronan = Good
AOU/Ultron = Poor
Ant-Man/Cross = Poor
Cap: Civil War/Zemo = Good

Feige takes the cake when it comes to making Marvel villains ineffective and underwhelming. Not to mention butchering The Mandarin to appease the Asian box office and making Red Skull so bad that Hugo Weaving refuses to play him again.

I think his origin to him killing Shaw in XFC was perfectly done. Clean cut motivation and character arc. I like Ian's Mags a lot too, and outside of XFC, X2 was the only other film that handled him well after X1. He wasn't the main villain, he had a common enemy with the X-Men but opportunity knocked on using Xavier to kill all humans. The TLS, DOFP and XMA are all kinda the same thing. All have different circumstances obviously, but they all play out to him being the main villain over and over.

Old Mag was better than Fassneto. I prefer the cool calculating older Mag, that didn't wear his emotions on his sleeve. DOFP you could see Fassbender starting to turn into that Magneto but then Apocalypse ruined him.

Old trilogy Mystique was a great villain, she's actually a lot more threatening villain than anyone in the McU so far. She's sort of on a henchmen level, except she's never been out in the pawn position. I can't think of one MCU villain that actually caused as many problems for the heroes as Mystique did. Also love how even with her lack of dialogue she had a ton of personality, and a great backstory. Kingpin would be the only character I'd give the edge too over her from Marvel.

Stryker might have actually been a better villain than old and Young Mags. Sure he doesn't have powers, but didn't stop him from being one of the best villains in the series. Also Brian Cox gave one of the best performances from a villain in a superhero film.

I'd love for you to tell me which MCU villains were actually more than mediocre. Most of them are usually one offs because they're horribly lame :lol

Oh and let's not forget, Sentinels > Ultron :lol

I'm scared...

So. . .which one is better? I Know What You Did Last Summer or Dexter?? I rank both as *Immortan Joe voice* MEDIOCRE!
