"The island won't let you come back alone" Maybe the island like balance, 6 leave, 6 have to come back. The island must be a little OCD

I'm hoping even the stuff they don't wrap up they handle in a way that it isn't frustrating. I'll be upset if they leave things and it seems like they left it because they could never plausibly explain it, but if there is enough that we can come up with our own plausible explanations I'll be satisfied. Probably, I think.

I wish I could find it but there's an interview with Orson Welles, talking about Kane I believe, where he says that a story should not answer every question that it raises, and is in fact stronger if it does not answer every question, so long as it answers the central question and mystery.

This is the tact that Damon and Carlton have taken and is the best one. We don't need to know why the numbers are powerful or why the island is "magical" so long as the central mystery of what has happened to the 815ers, and the conflict between Charles Widmore and Benjamin Linus is satisfactory tied up.

... and the four toes. :monkey5

natch. four toed statue, smoke monster, adam and eve skeletons, who is jacob will all be answered no doubt about that.

But stuff like why does Walt have supernatural power will not.

I predict little to no frustration with unresolved answers by the end of season 6.

In the new promo there's a backwards clip of Locke saying "when am I?"
interesting...

Yea, even JRR Tolkien said that a story needs some sort of enigma, some aspect that can be left up to the viewer to determine based on the clues given in the story (like Tom Bombadill) BUT, if this is one of hte main plot points of the story, then it needs to be addressed.

Ok. what're your top 3 Lost mysteries you want solved?

Me. In no order.

1) The Other's list of good people and bad people/ What is their overall goal?
2) Adam and Eve skeletons/ black & white stones (I once thought Amelia Earhart & Frank Noonan. Now I'm betting on Jack & Kate)
3) How does the Island heal people?

I don't know if I can remember enough of the mysteries to rank them. Off the top of my head:

1. What's up with the machine that needs the numbers?
2. What is up with the smoke monster?
3. How the hell did the island move?

Out of curiosity I googled "ajira" and got a link to Websters-dictionary-online.org for the Hindi word ajIrA. Definition - island, isle.

Got season four on Blu-ray and got all caught up and refreshed for the premiere. Way more excited about this show coming back this year than any other.

I'm just glad it's on Wednesday nights. Now I can watch it without having to wait for the Sideshow newsletter first. I'm also happy Life on Mars is on afterwards.

The other day I was reading a TPB of Ultimate X-Men and noticed a building in the back said "Widmore Industries". And there was a poster for Oceanic in the background in another part.
