TV Guide said that tonight's episode would contain the single funniest line of Lost dialogue ever, that it would be spoken by Sawyer, and that we would know it when we heard it.

Thinking back, I can't remember Sawyer saying anything that funny. Can anybody help me out here?

That would be his response to the less than popular newbies....

"And who the hell are you?"
yes I saw that. lol that is the line everyone has been saying ever since Nikkiy and Paulo hit the show.:lol

Last nights was awesome! Lot of information being given out that was obvious and not so obvious. I love this show.

I agree with everyone else about last night's episode, one of the best this season. We FINALLY got some answers! I like the back story but really miss when the back stories used to connected to the present (I just don't feel that this one did). Some great info about the others and Dharma. Tom pretty much already summarized my thoughts on the whole episode so I won't repeat it.

It boggles my mind, ABC touts the last two weeks and tonights actually doled out new information and no one was expecting it. I think they need to hire a new person to do the commercials for the show. And I loved that line with Sawyer and the two new people, but I have one problem, no nicknames from Sawyer for a week....How long is that in episodes, like a season? I love Sawyers nicknames because so often they are inside jokes like calling Jin Chewie because Michael could somehow understand him despite the language barrier, or calling Charlie a munchkin, but he doesn't seem that short to me so I'm guessing its a hobbit reference. Seems like there was something with Hurley too but I can't think of it.

The other thing that annoyed me last night is, why did they set Locke up to be a leader/guide/smart guy just to make him do every stupid thing possible? He stared down the smoke monster for goodness sake, and now he goes and blows up flame station...

I was actually rooting for Sawyer to win because his nicknames are the funniest part of the show.

I don't know I thought the "Grimmis" tag line for Hurley was funny, as were "Crouching Tiger" and "Hidden Dragon." :lol

This was a GREAT episode - finally LOST gets it's niche back! :fireworks

So the Others were on the island since the crash of their pirate ship, I take it.

That's because Charlie sucks.

I would have to agree, Charlie does in fact suck. Plus he's going to die, so what's the point?

Sawyer was in full form last night, loved everything he said. But DID we learn a lof of information? Was all the information eye patch man gave us all red hearings? That's my ONLY complaint about the show, you never know when you are being told real information or just information the "others" want you to know.....

Rousseau seemed to be strangely uninterested in that building and its occupant. Almost as if she already knew who and what was in there...

I am turning around two different theories in my mind.

One--Danielle is in fact the last surviving member of the Dharma Initiative. That was the group of scientists that she was a part of. She was the only one to survive "the purge" and possibly she was the one who made the deal to be left alone if she stayed on her side of the line (which might literally be that cable running to the beach). Possibly the price of her survival was to give up her daughter and she agreed to it, and what she did has driven her mad over the years. Kids seem to be a hot commodity on the island--maybe the Others struggle with infertility, hence the need for a reproductive specialist like Juliet and the propensity to kidnap children to continue their survival. Anyway, how can Rousseau have been scouting around the island for 16 years and claim to have never seen one of the Others? I think she was lying about that. When she caught Ben/Henry last season she seemed pretty sure who he was and warned that everything he said would be a lie. She's obviously a little unstable, but it seems that she isn't telling the whole truth about her history on the island, crazy or not.

My next theory is that she herself was once a part of the Others but was expelled for whatever reason. Maybe she was recruited from the mainland like Juliet, and Ben has a thing for bringing new ladies to the island every now and then for a little loving. Maybe a big twist would be to discover that Alex really is the daughter of Ben and Rousseau. Maybe Ben got her pregnant and shortly after the baby was born something caused a falling out between them. So they kept her child, stuck her in Room 23 for a little mind melting, and then released her now crazy self onto the main island. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we get a big reveal this season and discover that Rousseau has the same branding/scar that Juliet received as her punishment. Maybe her capturing and delivering Ben to Jack and Co. was an attempt to start the wheels turning that are now in motion--exposure to the Others and assistance in the recovery of her daughter.

And I also wonder if the Flame hatch was the place where Danielle went to program the looped recording that Sayid discovered in season one. Either a background with Dharma or with the Others, post-purge, would have given her knowledge about the location and communications technology in that building. The upstairs computer that claimed the communications were dead could have been a decoy. Maybe there was actual working equipment downstairs. Now we'll never know.

Thanks, Locke!! Stop blowing up hatches!! We know you will do anything to keep from leaving the island, but don't hurt everybody else's chances...

Interesting Tom. I could see either of those honestly. Locke is such a dip stick. I really find him to be a tad annoying and wish his position and Jack's where switched. I'd tell the others they could keep him. :lol

I really got interested in the Ben/Henry and Locke relationship while he was in the hatch, telling Locke that he came for him. It seems like it kind of built up to nothing. I didn't get why they didn't ask Michael to bring Locke at the end of the season. I guess Ben didn't really want Locke, he just pretended to like him but was just manipulating him. (He would probably get along great with Locke's dad.) I do hope that the rescue party gets to Othersville so that we can see Locke and Ben face to face once again. I would like to see how that would play out after they kind of stopped that storyline when Ben left the hatch.

Those two did seem to have something going but I think it was all about the mind games. Locke is easily messed with and I think Ben enjoyed it. So a confrontation between those two would be nice. I still want to see a mini-war between the two parties. Would be interesting to see how the others actually live and how Jack's Crew reacts to the whole thing.

I may be wrong, please point it out if I am, but didn't Roussu say that she crashed on the island on a french ship? I think it was the first season when she kidnapped sayid right? Then some "virus" infected them and she was forced to kill everybody. Did they every explain that fully? Ahh, I don't remember.

Maybe she was with Jim Carrey....?

She definitely said that. The question is--was she telling the truth?

We have so far seen absolutely no evidence whatsoever of any sickness. She may have been telling that story to keep the Losties confined to a certain part of the island. Her group of scientists could have been recruited by either Dharma or the Others, much like Juliet and Kelvin. I'm sure that there are elements of truth in her story, but I don't buy the whole package.

They have never explained the sickness thing, but I totally believe that she is not telling the full truth, or her memories/mental abilities are impaired, or both. She is an interesting character and I hope that we will find out more about her before too long. (I would love a flashback episode.) For now, I'm just not going to take anything she says--or has said in the past--at face value.

So who are Alex's parents? She thinks she's Ben's daughter, but really she's just Rousseau's? Someone's lying a lot, especially if they're both telling the truth.

I'm assuming that Alex was taken from Danielle when she was a child. Ben just appointed himself her father. Since he's the boss, don't think anybody would object. I find it odd that a pregnant women would be sailing in the middle of the ocean, so either A) Danielle was pregnant on the ship when they crashed on the island or B) She became pregnant after they crashed on the island.

Here's a crazy thought..Alex really IS Ben's daughter with Danielle. That Danielle knew the "hostiles" and lived with them long enough to have a baby. Then she got taken from her and she went nuts. That would be interesting and shocking if it were true.
