if you get my meaning....

This from a Dr. Who fan? Wow, you've got nerve.

I believe that the van and beer were another wish-fulfilling manifestation of the black smoke, just like Jack's dad and Kate's horse. And now that Sawyer has ingested so much of the black smoke in beer form, he will be able to fly and make himself look like Eko's brother at any time.

Poor Hurley...what's gonna happen to him while he's driving around in that van?

Tom, do us a favor and stay away from the black smoke. :monkey5

Sayid and Charlie are frustrated...

"Lost stars Naveen Andrews and Dominic Monaghan are bemoaning the lack of screen time they have in the third season of the desert island show. The British actors earn a reported $78,000 a week playing Sayid Jarrah (Andrews) and Charlie Pace (Monaghan), but admit they spend a lot of time sitting around with nothing to do. Andrews says, "Even though I like getting paid for doing nothing, it is nice occasionally to work." Monaghan adds, "As one person works more, work is being taken away from another. You have to make your peace with that. Executive producer Carlton Cuse explains, "The actors are frustrated. They're all really good at what they do and it's difficult when they don't get a chance to do it."

It's a hard life.

From what I've heard in interviews and DVD content, it's not so much that the show jumped the shark, but rather the show was always about shark jumping but just didn't feature it in the first season and half.

I think I might actually be looking forward to the Nikki & Paolo flashback after all. Rodrigo Santoro, who plays Paolo, is Xerxes in "300" and I think I might tolerate him more after seeing him go up against the Spartans this weekend.

That is cool...

Also, Tv.com has released more episode titles with their centric flashback character...

3/7 - Enter 77 - Sayid
3/14 - Par Avion - Claire
3/21 - The Man From Tallahassee - Locke
3/28 - Expos - Nikki/Paolo
4/4 - Left Behind - Kate
4/11- One of Us - Juliet
4/18 - Catch-22 - Desmond
4/25 - D.O.C. - Jin

So Jack, Kate, Locke, Desmond, Juliet, and Jin all get 2 flashback episodes before Charlie gets 1.

(actually, Jin will have had 1 1/2 episodes because in the episode The Glass Ballerina he shared his flashback with Sun.)

I really liked this episode. Sayid is one of my favorite characters on the show. I felt that we got to see a lot of new things on the island as well as a good flashback story. The flashback did not really reveal any new info. we already knew that Sayid struggles with his past life, but it was still entertaining. As for the island story... Why did Ms. Klugh want to die? Were The Others going to "mark" her and Mr. Eye patch?

Next week is a Claire episode and the previews said that there is a surprising connection between two characters. I still have a huntch that her and jack are brother/sister.

Side note: I miss Rose and Bernard... have they been in this season at all? I hope to see them again.

The last we saw of Bernard, he was helping Claire after the hatch imploded in the final moments of season two. I don't believe that Roase or Bernard have been in season three at all and I miss them.

But I really enjoyed tonight's episode. It's funny that they promised us answers two weeks ago and didn't really give us much, but this episode did quite a lot of explaining about Dharma and its history on the island and with the Others--particularly the fact that they are not one and the same. I was still wondering if the Others grew out of the abandoned Dharma project but it sounds like the Others have been there a lot longer. Of course, the Dharma Initiative was only in the last few decades, and Ben said that he has lived on the Island all his life, so it was clear that something predated Dharma (other than the giant foot statue). But if all of the hatches and power cables and submarines and housing were taken over by the Others in "the purge," then what exactly were they doing, and where were they living, before Dharma showed up? I've always taken Dharma to be their link with the outside world and source of supplies and information about all the castaways. Now that we know that Dharma and the Others were opponents, the plot thickens. The more we find out about Dharma, the more mysterious the Others become.

Of course, everything that Patchy said could have been a lie, so who knows how much of this we can rely on. And it looks like he won't last much longer by the looks of next week's teaser. It was nice to see Ms. Klugh again, but it looks like she won't be back, and that's a bummer. She was one of my favorite Others and very hate-able.

I agree that this episode is much better. And I actually became interested in the back story again. So perhaps the Others have been there since the Black Rock was marooned on the island and DI came in to study them as an isolated community.

But I wish we could have seen more of the ping pong match - I knew Hugo would kick butt, but I'd have liked to see it.

I must admit it held my attention much more than past episodes. I wonder what all, if anything, they took from the actual Flame Hatch. I definatly would have taken as many of those binders as I could have.. but then that would have been too easy for this show.
