What I want to know is: how did Christian Shepard appear off island on the freighter to Michael?

I thought smoky couldn't move over water...

I smell a continuity error!

There are a lot of fine points that I suspect won't be addressed in the remaining five hours of show.

Well, you have to remember that Jin was flashing with all the others last season even though he wasn't "on" the island. Perhaps the island's limits extend like a bubble around the island. It encapsulates MiB on the island and keeps everything in. This could also explain why you need a certain bearing to actually get off the island, you need to get through the "bubble"...........

Well presumably the Hydra island is with that bubble and MiB specifically said he couldn't cross that distance as smoky.

Also, didn't Christian appear to jack back on the mainland before he want back to the island?

I honestly think that the "oh smokey was jacks dad" whole thing was cause they didnt plan out a plausible reason. Yes I know nothing on Lost is plausible. But he did appear in the lobby of the hospital sitting in a chair at one point. It seems to be a sloppy reason.

...Thought about this at work today. When's the last time we saw Christian?

Ajira 'lands'. Lapidus and Sun (if I'm not mistaken) get off of Hydra and book it to New Otherton. Christian then shows them the pic of everyone in 1977 in the barracks and tells Sun that she has quite a journey (I think?) to meet up with Jin. Then Christian books it back to Hydra to be Locke?

Well, to be the devil's advocate, MIB told Jack that he appeared to him as Christian. We're making the logical leap that MIB appeared as Christian to Frank and Sun.

Michael and Walt have both showed up as visions on the island who aren't MIB.

That's true... And if there's one thing you can't do with this damn show it's make logical leaps.

I think until (if?) we get the full backstory/rules of Jacob and MIB, all of this is just fun theorizing anyways.

edit: Michael showed himself to Hurley though, who we've known can see dead people. Walt is the bigger question mark being seen by Shannon and Locke. I think the Shannon thing can be thrown out by Walt's 'specialness' though. The Locke sighting has more too it.... I hope anyways.

What do we think of the theory that the Jacob we have been seeing this season has been the MIB all along?? Thing about what Jacob has asked them to do: Take Sayid to the Temple...... where he died and the MIB brought him back to life to use as a puppet. To get Hurley to bring Jack to the Lighthouse (Jacob's lair if you will) whereupon Jack freaked out and busted the thing. I know Illana said that MIB could no longer change form.... but maybe she was wrong???

So there are acutally 17 episodes this season rather than 16 is that right?? I thought they planned 3 years ago to make seasons 4, 5 and 6 only 16 episodes long in each. I'm glad though and extra 2 hours left I didn't know they had.

Anyway I'm rewatching from the beginning and so far have finished season 2, so I haven't rewatched season 5 yet. So when Sun and Frank talk to Christian, Locke isn't there? I can't remember that episode very well.

I'd already guessed that Christian was MIB and I guess Yemi was as well. Why is it that MIB can't be anyone else but Locke now, was that explained? Also why is it that Hurley can speak to the dead? This first happens when he speaks to Charlie in the mental hospital, is this his gift from Jacob??

They certainly have to finish Walt's story, why is he special? How did he appear to Shannon and Sayid?

I'm not expecting to get every answer solved, but most of them would be nice.

I'm just waiting for everyone to gather in the AU and then they all remember what's happened to them.

I think early this season, they confirmed that they made the finale an extra hour. I think it's actually a 4-hour event, I think there's a 2 hour clip show then the two-hour finale.

Locke does show up outside the barracks after a few minutes. I think Sun says something like "I'm not going anywhere without John Locke" and Christian says "Look outside"

I think this one falls into their "If the characters don't care about it, we aren't going to address it". I think we're past Walt at this point.

I forgot about that... I'm definitely going to have to go back to those first few episodes with newly - 'resurrected' Locke.
