yeah jack was a pain. locke's grizzledness hides the flaws there better. generic pretty people are more difficult and I must admit I started losing interest half way through and rushed to wrap jack up. all in all, it was a fun project and encouraged me to try more portraits.

Emmy Nominations this morning and the LOST love REALLY made me happy!

The expected nominations that came to fruition were:
BEST SERIES DRAMA
BEST WRITING DRAMA (The End)
BEST DIRECTING DRAMA (The End)
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (Terry O'Quinn... FOR THE WIN!!)
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR (Michael Emerson)
And also nods for Music

The Nomination I was HOPING for that actually came to fruition:
BEST ACTOR DRAMA (Matthew Fox) !!!!!!

And the one NOBODY saw coming!!
BEST GUEST ACTRESS DRAMA (Elizabeth Mitchell!!!!) clearly making up for snubbing her last year!

All in all AMAZING!!!!!

I'm certainly not complaining, but how the heck did Elizabeth Mitchell get nominated? This wasn't really her season. But I'm really happy to see her and Matthew Fox nominated alongside the expected Terry O'Quinn and Michael Emerson.

I think by "Guest Star" standards she certainly deserves it. Don't forget her work in the Season 6 Premiere. Her death scene was so touching, dying in Sawyers arms. Then you have her emotionally charged scene with Sawyer in the Sideways during the finale, plus extra scenes (her and Jack, her with Claire and David at the concert) to remind us just how great an addition to LOST she was. Add to that the fact that she was snubbed last year.... yeah, i get it. Didn't expect it for a second.... but get it! AND LOVE IT! :)

Well, she was my favorite female character on the show, so I'm really glad that she got a nomination. I'm just surprised that she got it for the final season, which featured her the least. But I guess the guest star vs. supporting actress distinction helped her. (That and her acting skills, lol.)

I just wish that Nestor Carbonell had earned a nomination as well, but they really packed all of his quality screen time into a single episode. He did his best work this year in one hour of the show and otherwise sat out a large chunk of the season, but I imagine that being listed as a series regular forced him into the already crowded supporting actor category. If Ab Aeterno had aired when he was still credited as a guest star, I think he would have received a nomination.

Yeah a bit shocking in that capacity wasn't it. He absolutely brought it in Ab Aterno. I remember being so compelled the whole way through and then thinking to myself directly afterwards 'who knew he could actually act' lol. Never would've guessed it. He deserved a nod too I say

Spoiler re: The New Man in Charge. :)

https://www.tvovermind.com/abc/lost/lost-spoiler-the-new-man-in-charge/26379
The vignette, according to EW's interview with Michael Emerson, has Ben "going around to Dharma installations and closing some down." This will lead to "some good surprises," and will also "answer questions."
