Kate didn't really choose Sawyer over Jack. She only chose to go back to Sawyer after she realized Jack chose Juliet over her.

That's probably not what Jack was thinking when he watched them go at it in the cage last fall!

What does Jack know that he is not telling Kate???

It has to be that she is pregnant, right?

Ben is one wacked-out individual, watch out for his backhand! :horror

My sense, given the context of that conversation and what Jack did and didn't respond to (or seem interested in), is that Jack and Juliet know why that radio isn't getting a signal and they have some critical information about the island's isolation and communication issues. The only thing he seemed concerned about was contact, and I think Juliet wanted to explain to Kate why they shouldn't expect to get in touch with anybody via that satellite phone. Jack didn't think she was ready for that information yet.

Well yeah, that too. :p

I thought about the Others staging the second crash too, but wonder about the bodies. Wouldn't they be identified? Would the Others have the power to fake that? Just more questions that make me enjoy this show.

No, no, no! You forget, she said the wreckage was almost 4 miles down and they had to use remote robotic vehicles and cameras to view the site. The condition of the wreckage and bodies would be in such a state as to make identification almost impossible!

Of course, that would beg the question, how would the Others stage a wreck site that was 4 miles down??? :google

And where would they get a plane wreckage to put there? I think that "jacob" had something to do with hit.

... Lost, Sopranos, Entourage, and The Office are all great!!!
:rock :rock :rock

Add Heroes and 30 Rock to that and that's my TV lineup.

Loved last nights episode, we're in for a wild ride for these last three of the season. No spoilers for me either thanks!!

The only way Juliette could be smoking hot was if they set her on fire.

Now THAT would be good. *Best Picard voice possible* 'Make it so.'

You all assume the Others faked the plane wreck, but it could've been the Dharma institute. The parachute girl could very easily be one of them - remember the satelite phone was new, never-before seen technology.

I think the fact that Sayid wasn't familiar with the technology was a more important hint/clue than we realize. Maybe it's from the future?

But anyway, the Others obviously have vast resources and off-island power and influence. This includes Mittelos Bioscience, which can be an anagram for "lost time" (along with the Amelia Earhart anagram from their airline company).

At SDCC they hinted that we shouldn't assume that the 815ers have been there as long as they think they have. I think that they are pushing towards some sort of twist where we find out that time works differently on the island. (We already have Desmond's flashes and "time travel" and that needs to be eventually tied in with other things.) There is going to be some sort of time issue explained sooner or later, possibly when an older Walt returns.

I love this show...it is the only thought provoking show on TV. Yeah...heroes, sopranos, 24, etc. are all very ENTERTAINING...but LOST has one up on them all IMO in that every episode makes you THINK...possibilities are endless.

Love the Time theory Tom...could be someplace like Narnia...time is different in Narnia than in our world...and with Narnia, there are varying ways of getting there and never the same way twice. Our little island paradise could be something twisted up in Narnia, Bermuda, Pergatory, Alien, and Science experiement all in one.

I think the place is something like Atlantis as well...

Can't wait for the season ending...people will die...lets just hope it is not any of the main players. I love Ben's character...he is pivotal and must remain.

Just read something that makes the new turn of events very biblical. Someone refered to locke's father as a "CROSS" that he has to burden to walk his way back to the others....NOW, who dose THAT sound like....? Is Locke's the others' messiah?

Well that cross is being laid to rest next episode, we'll see; Ben certainly portrayed Locke in that light --- he did say, "he's not who we thought he was." Or something to that effect.

I thought Ben was just messing with Locke's mind, trying to get him to do what he wants. After all Locke wants to be special and above average and a sense of belonging. So Ben saying that stuff is an excellent manipulation. I wonder why killing the real Sawyer was so important. And was it just me or were the little kids going to watch Locke kill his father? That kinda weirds me out.

There have been quite a few biblical references, I had posted this one earlier in the thread......

Did anyone catch the Biblical reference a few weeks back? After Juliette shot the Other(I can't recall his name) and Jack had Ben spare her life, Ben had a mark placed on her. Much like when Cain killed Abel , God had a mark placed on him as well.

News Flash... well, sort of

ABC to Announce Lost End Date
Source: E! Online May 4, 2007

Kristin Veitch at E! Online has learned that ABC is planning to announce the end date for "Lost" very soon. Veitch says that "the exact number of remaining episodes and seasons is still muddy—and might not be exactly two seasons."

She added that ABC is planning to push back the return date for the show to January of next year in order to air new episodes back-to-back, and it is also very likely that "Lost" will change time slots next season.

Veitch also says that fans can expect a "massive, mind-blowing, cast-related 'game-changer'... which is revealed in the season finale."

Interesting about the "not exactly two seasons" thing. I wonder if number of viewers is dropping so they are going to shorten the time to not lose people, or if more people are watching and they figure they can get more time from it. I don't mean that second part negatively, even though it kinda sounds that way, but I can't think of a better way to phrase it.

E! Online says ABC seems to be getting ready to announce these things:

* "Lost" will end in 2009.

* Following the “game-changing” May 23 season finale, there will be a seven-month hiatus before new episodes return in 2008.

* The series will be moving to an earlier timeslot.

Don’t be surprised if all of this is revealed at ABC’s upfront presentation on May 15.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - ABC has set an end date for "Lost."

The Emmy-winning adventure series will run for 48 more episodes over three seasons. Each season will consist of 16 episodes, which will air uninterrupted.

"Lost" executive producers/showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, who have been vocal about setting up an endgame for the show, have signed on to stay for the remainder of the series' run. Their separate new eight-figure deals with "Lost" producer ABC TV Studio include their services on the show as well as multiyear development pacts set to kick in when "Lost" bows out during the 2009-10 season.

"Due to the unique nature of 'Lost,' we knew it would require an end date to keep the integrity and strength of the show consistent throughout and to give the audience the payoff they deserve," ABC Entertainment president Stephen McPherson said.

Lindelof said having the end point in sight was "incredibly liberating. Like we've been running a marathon and we actually know where the finish line is for the first time."

Lindelof and Cuse said they've had "a road map for the series with all the major mythological milestones and the ending in place" for a while.

"What we didn't know was how long we had to play the story out," Cuse said. "By defining the endpoint we can now really map out the rest of the series in confidence."

There will be some puzzle play, too.

"We sort of view "Lost" as a mosaic," Cuse said. "Now there are only 48 more tiles that go into that mosaic, and we're figuring out, along with all the other writers, exactly where they all go."

In January, Lindelof and Cuse said that they envisioned the endpoint for "Lost" around episode 100. The agreement with ABC will bring the total number of episodes to 120.

Lindelof wrote the pilot for "Lost" with fellow executive producer J.J. Abrams, and Cuse joined the series in October 2004 shortly after the show debuted to big numbers.

In addition to its instant commercial success and large following, "Lost" has enjoyed strong critical acclaim, capped by a best drama series Emmy in 2005 and best drama series Golden Globe in 2006.

While the show's ratings have softened this season -- it is averaging 15.1 million viewers to date -- it is the most recorded show on TV, gaining 18% more viewers through DVR viewing. It is also a popular draw for streaming replays on ABC.com, iTunes downloads and DVDs.
