Wow, I've missed some interesting stuff here.

First of all, Entropy Chicken, Great cake!!!

Tom, that is a great theory regarding Charlotte being Ben's daughter. I can see that happening.

I think we started seeing Sawyer and Juliette becoming the new Jack and Kate, if you will. Sawyer has shown more selfless traits this season and would be interesting to see him match up with Juliette as the new leaders of the survivors.

Locke will become the new Ben. Not just taking over as leader of the "others", but mirroring his actions and interests in the island. He may become the new "bad guy" that we love to hate...

This leads me back to my alternate universe / time line theory. Notice how nonchelant Ben is with killing. His "so?" reply was brutal, as was his attempt to kill Charlotte, Locke, etc... What if he knows that death on the island is not permanent? What if he is aware of alternate realities where those people are still alive and well?

I think next season's finale could be with a conflict similar to the two rabbits but with two of the same person(s) meeting up in the same time-line/universe. Imagine something like a "live" Locke looking down into the casket holding a "dead" Locke...and smiling...

My guess is that the final season will have the universe going crazy because of the "meeting" and we'll be visiting alternate "realities". This could be what Locke referred to as bad times for the island.

What if we get different versions of previous episodes, filmed from a different angle and with different outcomes? I think that would drive Miles crazy, though... LOL!

The series finale could show the survivors "sacrificing" themselves in order for the correct timeline to continue. Just like Desmond had told Charlie that he was "supposed" to be dead, Charlie did what was best for Claire and Aaron, knowing that he would die in the attempt to save them. What if we get a similar sacrifice from the remaining survivors and in the end, Flight 815 does indeed arrive safely in L.A. (though no one except perhaps a couple of people know what truly happened.)

Of course, they could then show Christian's "ghost" (or perhaps the revealed Jacob) at the airport terminal and leave it wide open for future "movies", ala X-Files...

Did you watch Twin Peaks? That was no cliffhanger! Everyone died and Cooper got possessed by the demon. Case closed. :lol pretty good resolution for Lynch.

From Wiki:

Apparently the Cooper doppelganger has exited the Black Lodge, thus taking the real Cooper's place. The series then ends on this cliffhanger.

if it says so on wiki it must be true  :lol

cliffhanger in the sense that we don't get to see what happens to the demon and follow it's adventures? meh...
There's always more story to tell if you really want to force it, Hamlet 2 anyone?

The story of Twin Peaks and Agent Cooper ends. It's a bummer resolution but a resolution none the less.

Thanks for spoiling both Twin Peaks and the Sopranos for me. There's a couple of DVD box sets I don't need to buy!

Each new season in the past has introduced quite a few new cast members. Seeing as the island was moved, I just came across a photo of the new cast members.

Tom, I think you're onto something with Charlotte being Annie's daughter. Charlotte does look a lot like the child actress that played Annie, complete with red hair and freckles. Now is she also Ben's daughter... hmm?

On the DVD commentary track for "The Man Behind the Curtain" Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse describe Annie and Alex as the two most significant women in Ben's life. Annie is described as a character that is going to play a "huge part" in upcoming storylines: "Annie is going to prove to be very significant in Ben's life," and that even the island's volcano will be "slightly less important than Annie, but still seismic."

Well, I don't think Ben killed Annie in the purge. I think that she either died at the hands of Dharma or was forced off the island--either way, Ben lost her and it impacted him pretty deeply and left a pretty deep resentment towards the Dharma folks. Ben has a twisted sense of logic and right/wrong and wouldn't kill all those people unless they "had it coming" for some reason and he could justify it to himself. Causing him to lose his one true friend would probably make him hold a grudge for a long time. And him fathering a child (and being separated from her) just seems to connect with the pregnancy and broken family elements of the mythology. It's just a bit of a wild theory, but it wouldn't surprise me after the little hints we've received of Charlotte's past. She has to connect with somebody and you don't have that many potential candidates with a past history on the island.

Agreed

I do think Ben has something to do with the bad pregnancies on the island, directly or indirectly, since his mother died in childbirth and his father constantly blamed him. Perhaps Annie died in childbirth with Charlotte as well?

Incidently, Charlotte shares a birthday with the date Amelia Earhart went missing. Exactly 42 years later on July 2 :google

You should still buy the SOPRANOS because lots of people die!:D

Everyone but Tony :monkey3

And lots die in Twin Peaks too. It's an amazing show. For shame if you haven't seen it.

PS. everyone dies at the end of Hamlet too. :monkey5
